1. Select a convenient location for the timer no further than
92" from the electronic control housing. Assure the loca-
tion will not interfere with internal cabinet components or
other existing installations.
2. Create a template for the electrical outlet box by tracing
its outline onto the cabinet face. Cut out the template
using the reciprocating saw.
3. Disconnect the cable from the timer terminal block and
relay.
4. Install the strain relief adapter into the outlet box knock-
out.
5. Apply the strain relief bushing approximately 3 ½" from
the end of the cable jacketing. Guide the timer cable into
the outlet box and install the strain relief bushing into the
knock-out adapter.
6. Slide the electrical box into the cabinet assuring that it sits
flush with the surface. If the cabinet thickness is less than
1-1/4" the box locking tabs may be utilized to secure the
box, otherwise, install four (4) #6 x 1" screws through the
box face and installation surface.
7. Reconnect the timer wiring as follows (Refer to figure
11):
• Green/Yellow ground conductor to the threaded stud
located on top of the terminal block. The ring terminal sits
on top of the flat washer and beneath the lock washer.
Tighten the nut to 3 in-lbs using a 1/4" socket
• Connect the brown line conductor to the terminal block
opposite the "comb" shaped jumper.
• Connect the blue neutral conductor to the terminal block
opposite the pre-connected blue conductor.
• Connect the brown/white conductor with the quick-con-
nect terminal to the (N O) "normally open" terminal on the
timer relay. The connector should be orientated so that the
flat side lines up with the a side of the terminal recess.
8. Place the timer into the electrical box. Screw the provid-
ed four (4) #6 x 1-1/4" oval head screws through the
timer faceplate and into the corresponding holes in the
electrical box. Assure that the faceioplate is tight against
the surface and does not provide access to the wiring
beneath.
9. Plug the timer's 4-pin connector into the corresponding
4-pin receptacle on the electronic control housing (Fig.
13). Secure the cable to the electronic control housing by
screwing the connector onto the threaded receptacle.
10. Using a small flat-blade screwdriver, lide the red timer
switch on the back of the electronics housing to read
"ext." This will disable the mechanical timer on the elec-
tronics control housing and enable the Digital Remote
Timer.
11. Plug the cleaner power cord back into the electrical outlet.
You are now ready to begin using your Digital Remote
Timer. For proper operation, refer to the "Instructions for
Use" provided with the timer.
