Setting the clock

1 After you have put the plug in the wall socket, the numbers start to flash on the
display (Fig. 2).
Note: If you do not press a button within 12 seconds, the set time is stored automatically.
2 Press the + button to increase the time or the - button to decrease the time (Fig. 3).
The display shows the set hour (e.g. 7:00).

Tip: Press and hold the + or - button to put the time forward quickly.
3 Press the clock button to switch from hours to minutes. Press the + button to increase the
time or the - button to decrease the time (Fig. 4).
The display shows the set minutes (e.g. 7:20).

4 Press the clock button to confirm the set time (Fig. 5).
Note: If you want to change the preset time, push the + or - button and repeat step 2 until 4.
Adjustable keep-warm time and freshness indicator
You can adjust the time during which the appliance keeps the coffee warm on the hotplate to
a maximum of 2 hours. The default keep-warm time is 30 minutes.
1 Press and hold the clock button until the keep-warm time starts flashing on the display,
then release.
2 Press the + button or - button to adjust the keep-warm time. Every press of the button adds
10 minutes to the keep-warm time.
Tip: Press and hold the + or - button to fast forward the time.
3 Press the clock button to confirm.
Note: The appliance automatically saves the set keep-warm time after 12 seconds.
If you select a keep-warm time over 30 minutes, the freshness indicator will be activated after
30 minutes. The slowly flashing on/off button lets you know the freshness of your coffee is declining.
Freshness indicator
To switch off the freshness indicator, follow below steps.
1 Unplug the appliance.
2 Press and hold the on/off switch and put the plug back in the wall socket.
The display shows OFF.

To switch on the freshness indicator, follow below steps.
1 Unplug the appliance.
2 Press and hold the on/off switch and put the plug back in the wall socket.
The display shows ON.

Flushing the appliance before first use
1 Remove the water tank from the appliance (1) and remove the lid of the water tank
(2) (Fig. 6).
2 Fill the water tank with fresh, cold tap water (Fig. 7).
3 Put the lid on the water tank (1) and put the water tank back onto the appliance (2) (Fig. 8).
Do not put a filter and ground coffee in the filter holder.
4 Press the on/off switch downwards to switch on the appliance (Fig. 9).
