SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING - If correctly used, the electric saw is a
quick, easily handled and efficient tool. For pleasant
and safe work, strictly comply with the safety rules
given below and throughout this manual.
WARNING! –National laws could limit use of the elec-
tric chainsaw.
1 - The electric saw must only be used by adults, and users
must be in good physical shape and familiar with the op-
erating instructions. Do not use the electric saw under
conditions of physical fatigue or if you have taken alcohol,
drugs, or medication (Fig. 1).
2 - Never wear scarves, bracelets or anything else which
could be taken up by machine or chain. Wear clothing
that is snug-fitting and comfortable, and resistant to cut-
ting (pag. 14-15).
3 - Use safety footwear, gloves, safety glasses or goggles,
and protective head covering (pag. 14-15).
4 - Assemble bar and chain before connecting the plug to the
network (Fig. 2).
5 - Never start the electric saw without the chain-guard on.
6 - Check that tension and frequency shown on the plate cor-
respond to the ones of the network.
7 - Never use cables, plugs or extensions which are defec-
tive or fail to comply with relative standards.
8 - Immediately disconnect the plug if the cable is damaged
or cut (Fig. 3). The electric connection must be positioned
so as to prevent persons or vehicles from damaging it,
thus jeopardizing both themselves and you.
9 - Before starting to saw, make sure that the work area is
clean and uncluttered.
10 - Check the cable location during work: it must always be
kept away from the chain work area or/and never be

stretched. Never cut in the vicinity of other electrical ca-
bles.
11 - When the motor is running, always hold the front grip
firmly with your left hand and the rear grip with your right
hand (Fig. 4).
12 - Keep bystanders and animals out of the work area when
cutting with the electric saw (Fig. 5).
13 - Always keep the grips clean and dry.
14 - Always cut from a firm-footed and safe position. Only
start cutting when the chain is moving. During work use
the teeth as a support point.
15 - Always cut from a firm-footed and safe position (Fig. 6).
Ensure that trees fall in a safe direction.
16 - When cutting a limb that is under tension, be alert for
springback so that you will not be struck when the tension
in the wood fibres is released. Be extremely careful when
cutting small-size saplings because slender material may
catch the chain and be whipped toward you or pull you off
balance.
17 - The cut must be carried out so as to prevent the guide
bar from sticking in the wood.
18 - When cutting, never hold the electric saw above your
shoulders level (Fig. 7).
19 - Disconnect the plug from the network before any servicing
(Fig. 2).
20 - Carry the electric saw with the blade facing backward and
the blade-cover on (Fig. 8A).
21 - Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the
maintenance operations.
22 - Check the saw daily to ensure that all safety and other
devices are working properly.
23 - Never work with a saw that is damaged, poorly repaired,
or randomly modified. Do not remove, damage, or make
ineffective any of the safety devices. Only use bars of the

length indicated in the table (Pag. 2).
24 - Only loan your saw to expert users who are completely
familiar with saw operation and correct use. Give other
users the manual with operating instructions, which they
should read before using the saw.
25 - Always store your electric saw in a dry place, raised off
the ground, and with the blade-cover on.
26 - Do not expose the electric saw to rain or high humidity
conditions (Fig. 8B).
27 - Never use your electric saw in explosive or inflammable
atmospheres
28 - If the saw stops working for any reason, do not leave it on
the work site, but take it to your dealer who will take the
correct measures.
29 - All electric saw service, other than the operations shown
in the present manual, should be performed by compe-
tent personnel.
30 - Keep this manual on hand and consult it before each use
of the tool.
31 - Do not overload the electric chainsaw by forcing the cut.
32 - Do not abuse the power cable; never carry the saw sus-
pended by the cable, and never tug on the cable to un-
plug the saw from the power socket. Keep the cable well
clear of oil, heat sources and sharp edges.
33 - Do not operate the electric chainsaw in areas where there
may be an explosion or fire risk.
