4.4 Initial commissioning
For the initial operation of the biolite® please proceed as follows:
1.
Make sure that there is water - in recreational vehicles in the fresh water tank, stationary in the supply pipes
2.
Plug/screw in the fuse of the biolite®'s electric circuit.
3.
A short honk of the signal horn as well as the flashing of the red and green signal LED
indicates that the device is working properly. Then the biolite® flashes and signals the standby mode
3.
Plug/screw in the fuse of all relevant circuits.
4.
Open one or more tapping points (fittings).
5.
The biolite® now lights up green and disinfects the flowing water (operating mode).
4.4.1 Visual inspection
Check all water connections for tightness for at least 5 minutes:
a.
in operating mode (tap open, pump on)
and
b.
in standby mode (tap closed, pump off)
5. OPERATION
5.1 Safety regulations
Warning!
A defective biolite® can cause serious health problems or even life-threatening effects when drinking
water contaminated with pathogens.
•
Operate the biolite® only properly in accordance with this operating manual.
•
Take the biolite® out of operation immediately if you notice a faulty or ineffective operation.
•
In case of a defective biolite®, immediately provide an alternative disinfection procedure of
the water and do not use it until this is guaranteed.
•
Do not make any changes or additions to the biolite®.
Please also observe the instructions in the chapter Risks (p.36) and Risk reduction in general (p.36).
5.2 Requirements for the „operators" of biolite®
•
The biolite® may only be operated by persons who have read this operating manual in its entirety or
have been informed about its contents and have understood the facts.
5.3 Tests before switching on
•
Make sure that there is water in the fresh water tank or in the supply pipes.
•
Close all consumers (taps) and make sure that the pump is off and not pumping no water is pumped.
5.4 Switching on
Make sure that the biolite® and the pump or the flow sensor are supplied with power.
