24. Chip Deflector
Protects against large chips entering the
upper guard.
25. Lower Guard Linkage
Allows for smooth movement of the lower
guard.
26. Upper Blade Guard
Covers upper portion of the blade.
27. Hex wrench
Used for tightening/loosening the blade
bolt, adjusting the miter plate, and
removing the adjustable fences and bevel
stops. The hex wrench is stored in the
back of the base.
28. Bevel-Lock Knob
Locks the saw at any desired bevel angle.
29. Bevel-Stop Bolts
Allow adjustment of the 45° bevel. There
is one each for the left and right bevel.
30. Right Bevel-Release Knob
Turns to release the 0° bevel stop and
allows beveling to the right side. It may
be helpful to bevel the arm slightly to the
left to release any pressure on the right
bevel release knob.
31. Bevel Stops
For each bevel direction, the bevel stops
slide in and out to provide quick access to
common bevel angles.
32. Bevel Scale
Scale allows you to read bevel angles
easily from either side.
33. Bevel-Scale Pointers
Two bevel-scale pointers can be adjusted.
34. Slide-Rail Lock Knob
Turn the slide-rail lock knob to lock the
slide rails into any position.
35. Dust Port
Fixed dust port allows easy attachment of
certain vacuum hoses and dust bag.
36. Dust Chute Elbow
Attaches to the dust port and can be
rotated to help direct dust flow. It also
allows connection to a 2 ½ inch vacuum
hose.
37. Depth-of-Cut Stop
Rotate the depth of cut stop down to allow
control of depth of cut.
38. Depth-of-Cut Bolt and Wingnut
Used with the depth-of-cut stop; rotate the
depth-of-cut bolt to achieve the desired
depth of cut and then secure it with the
wingnut.
39. Dimensional-Lumber Preset Stop
The thinner tab behind the depth-of-cut
stop. The dimensional-lumber preset stop
can be rotated down to provide maximum
horizontal capacity for 4x dimensional
lumber at 0° bevel and for 2x dimensional
lumber at 45° right bevel.
40. Oil-Fill Plug
Open the oil-fill plug to check the oil level
or to add or replace oil.
41. Oil-Drain Plug
Open the drain plug to remove oil from
the gear box.
