Maintenance
WARNING: ALWAYS wear adequate personal protective equipment, including eye protection
and oil/fuel-resistant gloves, when carrying out maintenance on this table saw. ALWAYS
ensure proper ventilation.
WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any inspection,
maintenance or cleaning.
General inspection
• Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight
• Inspect the supply cord of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear. Repairs
should be carried out by an authorised Silverline service centre. This advice also applies
to extension cords used with this tool
Rip fence adjustment
WARNING: ALWAYS wear suitable cut proof gloves when handling the table saw blade.
WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any inspection,
maintenance or cleaning.
• To calibrate the Rip Fence (10), ensure that the blade is set at 90°, (perpendicular to the
table surface). position the rip fence next to the blade so that the blade lightly scrapes
the fence surface. Set the Rip Fence Adjustment Pointer to '0' using a Phillips head
screwdriver, (see image XXIII)
• Position the Rip Fence by loosening the adjustment knob at the front of the Rip Fence,
then position where desired on the Rip Fence Guide (12). Finish the adjustment by
tightening the adjustment knob
Mitre fence adjustment
• To calibrate the Mitre Fence (40), use a set square to ensure that the Mitre Fence is
perpendicular to the Rip Fence (10). Undo the red calibration tab using a Phillips head
screwdriver and align to '0' on the angle gauge. Re-tighten the calibration tab, (see
image XXIV)
• The Mitre Fence is pre-drilled to accommodate a supporting structure (see image XXV).
It is strongly recommended that a sacrificial piece of wood is attached to the Mitre
Fence to increase stability whilst cutting
• Loosen the adjustment knob on the Mitre Fence and position in the desired angle of cut.
Tighten the adjustment knob to complete the adjustment procedure
Riving knife adjustment
WARNING: ALWAYS wear suitable cut proof gloves when handling the table saw blade.
WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any inspection,
maintenance or cleaning.
WARNING: To minimise the risk of kickback and to ensure proper cutting, the riving knife
must be the correct thickness for the blade used. The riving knife supplied with this table
saw is the correct size for the blade provided with the table saw.
• Remove the Saw Blade Guard (9) by pressing in the tab on the guard and sliding it
upwards and towards the front of the table saw. For information on the attachment tab,
see 'Table Surface Assembly'
• Adjustment access for the Riving Knife (8) is provided through the Underside Panel (24),
see 'Table Saw Assembly' for instructions on how to remove the underside panel.
• Undo the two hexagonal nuts with an open-ended spanner and set the riving knife to a
distance of 3-5mm from the saw blade, (see image XXVI).
• Tighten the Hexagonal screws on the riving knife, and reassemble the underside panel.

Changing the saw blade
WARNING: ALWAYS wear suitable cut proof gloves when handling the table saw blade. Not
doing so may result in cuts, or harm to the operator.
WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any inspection,
maintenance or cleaning.
WARNING: Remember the blade direction. It is important that the blade is reinstalled in
the correct orientation.
WARNING: ONLY use a compatible saw blade that is the same dimensions as the saw
blade described in the 'Specifications'.
• Removal access for the blade is provided through the Underside Panel (24), see 'Table
Saw Assembly' for instructions on how to remove the Underside Panel.
• Use the Saw Blade Lock Wrench (34) to hold the blade in place, loosen the hex bolt at
the centre of the saw blade to remove the blade (see image XXVI)
Note: For blade dimensions and specifications, see 'Specification'. Replace the blade using
a compatible replacement circular saw blade; ensure that the replacement blade has a
speed rating that exceeds the operating speed of the table saw.
• Fit the replacement blade and re-tighten by holding the blade using the Saw Blade Lock
Wrench, and tightening the central hex bolt.
• Re-assemble the Underside Panel and Subframe assembly
Cleaning
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly,
and shorten the machine's service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft
brush, or dry cloth. If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the
ventilation holes
• Clean the tool casing with a soft damp cloth using a mild detergent. Do not use alcohol,
petrol or strong cleaning agents
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts

Lubrication

• Slightly lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals with a suitable spray lubricant
Brushes
• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn
• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or visible
sparking
• If you suspect that the brushes may be worn, have them replaced at an authorised
Silverline service centre
Storage
• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children
Disposal
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer
functional and are not viable for repair.
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic equipment
(WEEE), with household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way to
dispose of power tools
