OPERATING PROCEDURES
WARNING! For the safe operation of this machine follow the instructions given in this manual and the training given by
your supervisor. Failure to do so can result in personal injury and/or damage to machine and property!
DO NOT OPERATE MACHINE IN AN EXPLOSIVE ENVIRONMENT! Do not operate this machine around fuels, solvents,
flammable floor finishes, thinners, wood particulate or any flammable materials. Cigarette lighters, pilot lights, electrical sparks
and all other sources of ignition should be extinguished or avoided. Work areas should be well ventilated.
This machine is intended for commercial use and is not recommended for sanding wood decks. The uneven surfaces of the deck
could lead to damage of the machine. Some pressure treated wood found in decking contains arsenic that, when sanded, will
create hazardous dust. Tornado Industries assumes no liability if the machine is used on decks, and damage caused from sanding
pressure treated wood will not be warranted.
Never inhale dust created by the use of this machine.
Keep feet, hands and loose clothing away from moving parts on the machine to avoid injury.
Any modifications to this machine may result in damage to the machine or injury to the operator or others nearby. Alterations to
the machine, besides the addition of Tornado Industries weight kit, solution tank kit or dust control kit, will also void all warranty.
PREPARATION
To prepare the machine for operation, make sure it is of correct voltage and properly assembled.
Your new floor machine operates in a straight-line forward motion, rather than the normal side-to-side motion of a conventional
single disc machine. Be prepared by having your floor area cleared and ready. Transport the machine to the work location.
NEVER OPERATE, TRANSPORT OR STORE THE MACHINE WITHOUT A PAD TO PROTECT THE GRIP FACE. CAUTION!
THIS MACHINE IS VERY HEAVY. GET ASSISTANCE WHEN LIFTING. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LIFT MACHINE ALONE.
WARNING! NEVER USE THIS MACHINE WITH FLAMMABLE OR EXPLOSIVE MATERIAL!
Check the grip face for wear or debris. Replace as needed.
Select the appropriate clean floor pad (your supplier can help you) for the application that you are performing (scrubbing, finish
removal, sanding, etc). It is very important to select clean, dry pads of uniform thickness. Pads with high or low sections, or hard
or soft spots are unacceptable.
Unplug the machine from the wall outlet and then tip the machine back to expose the pad driver. Carefully center the pad onto the
pad driver. Check for level, centering and flatness. Tip the machine back up to the upright position.
Check the vacuum hose and connections if your machine is equipped with the optional dust control kit.
