These could destroy the sandpaper and also damage the
hook-and-loop sanding pad.
MAINTENANCE
Maintaining the device
Regularly blow out all air passages with dry compressed
air. Clean all plastic parts with a soft, damp cloth. NEVER
clean plastic parts with solvents. These could possibly dis-
solve or otherwise damage the material.
Wear safety goggles while working with compressed air.
Clean the vacuum swivel connector as too much dust will
keep it from turning freely.
Carbon brushes
Carbon brushes are wear parts and must be replaced
when they reach their wear limit.
Please contact a qualified STORCH service centre to
check and replace the carbon brushes (free technology
hotline 0800 - 78 67 247 in Germany only).
Replace both carbon brushes when worn down to 7mm
length of carbon. To inspect or replace brushes, first
unplug the tool.
Remove the hose clamp, then the right and left handle
halves. Unscrew and remove the two screws to remove
the electronics and carefully hold it off to the side. Avoid
straining any of the wires. Remove each brush holder
screw and brush holder in turn. (see figures).
Translation of the original instruction
When inserting the carbon brushes into the carbon brush
holders it is essential that both flanges go back inside the
holder.
To fit the same brushes first ensure that the brushes are
replaced in exactly the same way as before they were
removed. The motor performance can otherwise be
affected and the brushes will be subject to more wear and
tear.
For the replacement, follow the disassembly instructions
in the reverse order. Replace the brushes in the holders
then put the holders in place in the housing and secure
the screws. When Replacing the handle cover halves take
great care that all wires are in place and not in a position
to be pinched when it is retightened. It is recommended
that you take the tool to an authorised STORCH service
centre once a year for thorough cleaning and lubrication
(free technology hotline 0800 - 78 67 247 in Germany
only).
Power cord
Inspect the power cord for any signs of damage on a regu-
lar basis. If the cable is damaged, have it replaced at a
STORCH service centre.
