Read the following instructions carefully before installing the unit.
Thank you for choosing a Tecumseh air cooled HOUSED CONDENSING UNIT. This unit has been specifically designed for
refrigeration and with ease of installation in mind to save you time on site: there is easy access to components and the unit comes
prewired. This technical instruction leaflet includes detailed information concerning installation, start up, servicing and maintenance.

12 seconds, thus reducing the current draw while the unit is starting.
This type of fan motor is not affected by frequency and supply voltage variations. Acoustic and aeraulic performance of the unit are
also maintained.
However, a fan speed control cannot be fitted on these models.
1 WARNING
1.1 Transport
For information regarding the delivery of condensing units, please refer
to our sales terms and conditions.
1.2 Installation

This condensing unit and all related equipment must be installed
by qualified staff.

The installation should be carried out in accordance with the relevant
refrigeration and electrical standards which apply in that country.
Refrigeration best practice must be followed.

TECUMSEH EUROPE S.A. shall not under any circumstance be liable
if the installation and maintenance are not carried out in accordance
with the instructions given in this manual.
2 TECHNICAL DATA
2.1 Identification label for the HOUSED CONDENSING UNIT

2.2 Safety devices
All units are supplied with an adjustable HP / LP pressure switch, with
a 6A maximum current rating and a switching neutral isolator lockable in
the ON or OFF position.
2.3 Options and versions available
Options:
•
Pump down package (adjustable auto reset LP switch + solenoid
valve supplied loose).
•
LP mini pressure switch.
Versions:
•
Fusible plug on the receiver.
•
Manual reset HP mini pressure switch (auto reset as standard).
•
CAE and AJ are not fitted with crankcase heaters.

3 INSTALLATION
3.1 Unpacking
Before unpacking the unit, check that the packaging has not been damaged
in any way and that the exterior is in good condition.
3.2 Handling
The packaged condensing unit can be lifted by forklift or pallet truck.
The unit should therefore be kept in its packaging until it has been moved
to the installation site.
Once the packaging has been removed, housed condensing units can be
moved and lifted by straps depending on the model. Units must not be
dragged into position.
Warning, do not lift or move the product by its housing. When opening the
housing, it is essential to hold it open using the strut provided and designed
for this purpose.
3.3 Location
Housed condensing units should not block or obstruct thoroughfares,
doors, shutters or the movement of personnel.
The surface supporting the condensing unit must be level and capable of

bearing the combined weight of the unit + support.
Ensure that sufficient space is left above the unit to allow for opening of
the housing in order to access all the components. If this is not possible,
take out the hinge pins and remove the housing cover.
Ensure there is sufficient distance between the condensing unit and objects
in the surrounding area to ensure good air circulation.
