MATERIALS
A 1 Cross Bar with European facing to 94/20/EC A50-1
D 3 M10 x 100mm Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers, Flat Washers (3x20mm O.D, 1x40mm O.D)
D1 1 Left Hand Spreader Plate
D2 1 Right Hand Spreader Plate
D3 3 Bushes (70mm long, 19mm O.D)
D4 1 Bush (66mm long, 19mm O.D)
D5 1 Bush (80mm long, 19mm O.D)
D6 2 M10 x 110mm Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers & Flat Washers (20mm O.D)
E 4 M10 x 30mm Bolts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (20mm O.D)with Cage Nuts and Cages
E1 2 Spreader Plates
G 1 Packer Plate
CB 2 M16 x 50mm Coupling Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers
Z 1 ZEP35 Electrical Plate (not shown)
FITTING
No need to remove bumper.
1. Lift the floor covering in the boot and remove the rear panel trim (4 screw clips) and also the two side panels.
Locate the dimples provided in the floor and rear panel. (Removal of mastic compound may be required to
reveal the dimples and to ensure correct mating of Spreader Plates). At dimples in the floor drill holes of just
sufficient size to insert bushes (D3, D4, D5) into the frame (top surface only).
2. Attach the towbar at the existing holes in the vehicle frame using Bolts (D) and (D6) ensuring correct positioning
of Bushes, Packer (G), Spreader Plates (D1) and (D2), and 40mm O.D flat washer.
3. Using Spreader Plates (D1) and (D2) as jigs, drill holes (12mm) through dimples in rear panel and attach to
Spreader Plates (E1) inserted between bumper and rear panel from below,(see separate fitting instruction for
fitment of cages) using Bolts (E).
4. Finally, Tighten all Bolts and refit trim.
This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm , M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
