MATERIALS
A 1 Main Cross Bar
C 1 Centre Tube with European facing to 94/20/EC – A50-1
E 1 Side Cleat
G 1 Strap
F 3 M12 x 35mm x 1.25 Bolts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (30mm dia.)
G 1 M12 x 35mm x 1.25 Bolt, Nut and Lock Washer
H 2 M12 x 40mm x 1.25 Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers and Large Flat Washers (40mm dia.)
J 1 M12 x 35mm x 1.25 Bolt, Nut, Lock Washer and 2 Flat Washers (30mm dia.)
K 2 M12 x 90mm x 1.75 Bolts and Disc Spring Washers
CB 2 M16 x 50mm Coupling Bolts, Nuts and Lock Washers
FITTING
1. Attach Main Cross Bar (A) to right of vehicle chassis using Bolts (F) and (J). Tighten these Bolts to within two
threads of being fully tight. Attach the left side of Main Cross Bar (A) using Bolts (H). Note: Ensure lashing eye
on left of vehicle is sandwiched between the tack welded washers on Cross Bar (A) and loose washers (H).
2. Loosely attach Side Cleat (E) to left chassis rail and Main Cross Bar using Bolts (F) and (G). Note: If hole F does
not align sufficiently to the hole in the chassis tighten Bolts (H) until it does.
3. Attach Centre Tube (C) to Main Cross Bar (A) using Bolts (K) and Strap (G). Ensure Strap (G) is on the right
side (the same side as the electrical plate) and the disc spring washers are orientated as shown. Position of the
Centre Tube depends on the location of the spare wheel, see diagram below. Finally, Tighten all Bolts.
Note: Remove Towball/Neck using Wheelbrace when not in use to avoid number plate obscuration. This towbar must be used
with either a Witter Towball (part number Z1X) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and
'S' value greater or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm, M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
