Troubleshooting

Problem / Message
Printout unreadable
Pilot lamp does not light

Possible cause
• Ribbon worn or entangled.
• Service life of printing unit
at an end.
• No power.
• Power supply fault.
• No connection printer
device.
• Printer did not find the
settings of the connected
instrument.

Off
• Data transfer has not
completed in the last 45 s.
• Balance in overload range.
• Zeroing out of the zero
range.
• Balance in underload
range. Weighing pan is not
in position.
• Instrument does not under-
stand printer instruction.
• Instrument can not execute
printer instruction.
• Printer error messages.
• Statistics or Totaling
Memory is full.
• No sample or the same
sample is on the weighing
pan.
Correction
• Change ribbon cartridge or
tense the ribbon properly.
• Please contact MEETLER
TOLEDO service.
• Switch printer on.
• Please contact METTLER
TOLEDO service.
• Make sure that the printer and
the instrument is connected.
• Switch the printer off/on.
• Alternatively change the
settings of the printer or the
connected instrument.

• Move balance to more stable
location.
• Check the balance.
• Check the weight of sample.
• Change the zero range of the
balance.
• Change the setting of the
printer from zero to tare.
• Check the balance.
• Check interface parameter
settings on printer and instru-
ment.
• Check the balance.
• Check the instrument.
• Reset the printer.
• Set date/time.
• Back-up battery depleted
Please contact METTLER
TOLEDO service.
• Start a new Statistics or Total-
ing application.
• Put a new sample or remove
it and put it again on the pan.
