Bi-Amp Processed Active Speaker
6. GND LIFT: ground separator. Press this key to separate the ground of the inputs
from that of the internal circuit.
In practice, ground separation can be useful for reducing or eliminating the buzzes and disturbance which
often occur when several devices are connected together (generally caused by "ground loops", differentials
and interferences between ground references, etc.).
N.B.: the speaker system's ground connection remains unchanged.
7. MIC IN: balanced XLR input for connecting a dynamic microphone.
Allows a microphone to be connected directly to the speaker, with no need for mixers, pre-amplifiers, etc.
8. LINE IN: balanced Combo input (XLR and JACK compatible) for connecting a
line signal.
The system's main input, for connection of all common sound sources: mixers, CD players, keyboards, etc.
9. LINK: balanced XLR socket for re-sending the Line In input signal.
In practice, it allows the signal exactly as received at the Line In input to be sent to another device
(e.g. another active speaker).
This allows creation of a chain of speakers connected on the following basis :
Line In - Link
With this type of connection, each speaker in the chain receives the same input signal "in cascade", but
operates independently from the other speakers.
10. MIX OUTPUT: balanced XLR output of the Mic In and Line In inputs mix.
The output is controlled by the Line Level and Mic Level trimmers.
In practice, it allows the mix of the signals received on the Line In and Mic In inputs, produced using the Line
Level and Mic Level trimmers, to be sent to another device (e.g. another active speaker).
This allows creation of a chain of speakers connected on the following basis :
Mic/Line In - MixOutput à Line In - Link à Line In - Link à ...
In this case the Line Level and Mic Level controls of the first (master) speaker also affect the signals of the
speakers connected "in cascade" (slaves).
11. POWER: on/off switch.
On or off status is indicated by the green ON LED on the control
panel and the red LED on the speaker front side.
12. AC-IN: power supply cable socket.
The socket is fitted with a fuse in a protected casing.
If the fuse needs changing, it is very important
to proceed as follows:
Switch off the device.
Remove the power supply cable.
Access the fuse compartment by opening the
cover with a screwdriver.
Replace the fuse with another having exactly
the same specifications :
- T2A L 250V in 230 VAC version;
- T4A L 250V in 120 VAC and 100 VAC versions.
Close the cover.
