sections! If in doubt follow the instructions in section 9 or contact your supplier.
The appliance-specific information as described in paragraphs 9.1 to 9.4 applies to all models described in
this manual. Supplementary installation instructions (per appliance) are described in paragraph 9.5.

9.1 Outside air connection and air slide valve

9.1.1 Outside air connection

The fire is made with an outside air connection. This outside air connection is supplied separately.
Assembly always takes place at the bottom of the appliance.
When mounting the outside air connection, please proceed as follows (see Annex 2, fig. 3):
Ø
Loosen the 5 bolts that are pre-mounted on the outside air connection.
Ø
Bring the outside air connection against the plate on the bottom of the appliance.
Ø
Then re-tighten the 5 bolts.
Ø
Connect the flexible hose (Ø 80 mm) to the round pipe opening of the outside air connection. The flexible hose
can be fed from the back or the bottom.
In case of the Vidar Triple, supply via the back of the appliance is possible. For this purpose, the round plate at the
!Caution
back of the appliance must be pressed out (see Annex 2, fig. 4).
When installing the Vidar Temple while using an outdoor air connection, a screening plate will be available from
your supplier. This screening plate will keep the flexible hose from view.
Proceed as follows to install the screening plate (see appendix 2, fig. 5a):
Ø
Take the two supplied screws. You can find them in the tray of the outdoor air connection.
Ø
Place the screening plate.
Ø
Fasten the screening plate using the 2 screws.
Follow the instructions above in reverse order when removing the screening plate.
When using a screening plate: drill a hole in the floor for the supply of outdoor air, as indicated in
!Caution
appendix 2, fig. 5b!

9.1.2 Air slide valve

When installing and maintaining the appliance, please check the operation of the air slide valve
(see Annex 2, fig. 6). It is possible that steel grit entered the air slide valve during transport. If the air slide valve
does not move smoothly it must be cleaned. For this purpose, the air slide valve must be disassembled.
The suspended air slide valve is spring-mounted using a bolt and a spring, which are located below the cover
plate.
When mounting the air slide valve, please proceed as follows (see Annex 2, fig. 6):
Ø
Remove the vermiculite plates from the bottom (see section 9.2.1).
Ø
Unscrew the cover plate's 6 Allen screws from the bottom.
Ø
Remove the cover plate.
Ø
Only in case of an outside air connection, unscrew the 2 screws from the front strip and remove it.
Ø
Remove the front strip or the outside air connection plus front strip.
Ø
Unscrew the Allen screw with spring.
Ø
Remove the air slide valve by bringing it towards you.
Ø
Check the air slide valve and clean it if necessary.
In order to replace the air slide valve, proceed as described for removal, only in reverse order.
