tion with wood treatment additives (chromate,
wood preservative). Materials containing asbestos
may only be machined by specialists.
– Use a dust extraction system that is suitable for
the material wherever possible.
– Provide good ventilation at the workplace.
– It is advisable to wear a P2 filter class breathing
mask.
The regulations on the material being machined
that apply in the country of use must be observed.
Avoid dust accumulation at the workplace.
u
Dust can easily ignite.
Operation
English
Start-up
English
Pay attention to the mains voltage. The
u
voltage of the power source must match the
voltage specified on the rating plate of the
power tool. Power tools marked with 230 V
can also be operated with 220 V.
When operating the power tool using a mobile
generator that does not have sufficient reserve ca-
pacity or an adequate voltage control system with
inrush current boost converter, loss of perform-
ance or atypical behaviour may occur upon
switch-on.
Please check the suitability of the power gener-
ator you are using, particularly with regard to the
mains voltage and frequency.
Products that are only sold in AUS and NZ:
u
Use a residual current device (RCD) with a nom-
inal residual current of 30 mA or less.
Switching on/off
English
To start the power tool, push the on/off switch (4)
forward.
To lock the on/off switch (4) in position, push the
on/off switch (4) forward and down until it clicks
into place.
To switch off the power tool, release the on/off
switch (4); or, if the switch is locked, briefly push
the on/off switch (4) backward and down and
then release it.
Always check abrasive tools before using
u
them. The abrasive tool must be fitted prop-
erly and be able to move freely. Carry out a
test run for at least one minute with no load.
Do not use abrasive tools that are damaged,
run untrue or vibrate during use. Damaged ab-
rasive tools can burst apart and cause injuries.
Kickback stop
English
If there is a sudden kickback in the
power tool, e.g. jamming in a separat-
ing cut, the power supply to the motor
will be interrupted electronically.

To restart the tool, set the on/off switch (4) to the
off position and then switch the power tool on
again.
Restart protection
English
The restart protection feature prevents the power
tool from uncontrolled starting after the power
supply to it has been interrupted.
To restart the tool, set the on/off switch (4) to the
off position and then switch the power tool on
again.
Starting current limitation
The electronic starting current limitation feature
restricts the power of the power tool when it is
switched on and enables operation using a 16 A
fuse.
Note: If the power tool runs at full speed immedi-
ately after being switched on, this means that the
starting current limitation and restarting protection
mechanisms have failed. The power tool should
be sent immediately to an after-sales service.
Constant Electronic control
The Constant Electronic keeps the speed at no
load and under load virtually consistent, guaran-
teeing uniform performance.
Speed preselection
English
You can preselect the required speed using the
thumbwheel for speed preselection (5), even dur-
ing operation. The required speed depends on
the material and the working conditions; it can be
ascertained through practical tests.

The rated speed of the accessory must be at
u
least equal to the maximum speed marked on
the power tool. Accessories running faster
than their rated speed can break and fly apart.

Working advice

English
Pull the plug out of the socket before carry-
u
ing out any work on the power tool.
Exercise caution when cutting slots in struc-
u
tural walls; see the "Information on struc-
tures" section.
Clamp the workpiece if it is not secure under
u
its own weight.
Do not load the power tool so heavily that it
u
comes to a stop.
