12.2 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF BREAKDOWNS
See the following chapter 7 "TROUBLESHOOTING" for identifying possible critical situations and types of breakdowns.
Always disconnect the unit and remove it from the plant to do routine maintenance, cleaning and replacing components and in the event
of a breakdown.
Before doing anything else, make sure that the power supply is NOT switched on.
During work on the unit there are risks of injury due to shearing, crushing or entanglement!
For this reason, work must be done by qualified persons handling and installing the machine using the necessary safety precautions
and following the instructions in this manual.
Residual pressure: can cause spillage of process fluids, with risks of injury to the skin and eyes;
Residual vacuum: may cause hair or clothing to be sucked in!
Remove the unit only after closing and discharging the plant to which it is connected.
The machine must be completely aired, cleaned and made inert before sending it to an assistance centre.
Contact the FPZ assistance centre for this type of work, in light of particular aspects of the construction and use of the series
K TMD Atex 2G machines.
If the maintenance or repair work is to be done in another repair centre, contact the FPZ assistance centre in any case to request
instructions and information on the components to be replaced.
12.2.1
LIFESPAN OF BEARINGS
Under normal operating conditions (values shown in the CHARACTERISTIC DATA), the bearings of the unit must be replaced by FPZ
personnel, after a maximum of 2 years even if the machine has been in disuse for a long period

Solution
Have the technician check the electrical connection
against the wiring diagram contained in the terminal board
box.
Check that the power supply voltage, measured at the
motor's terminals, is within +/- 10% of the rated voltage.
Have the FPZ assistance personnel repair the unit
Have the technician clean or replace the cartridge
Correct the frequency
Have the FPZ assistance personnel check the impeller
Have the technician invert the direction of rotation by
switching two of the electrical power supply wires.
Locate the leak and seal
Have the technician check the electrical connection
against the wiring diagram contained in the terminal board
box.
Have the technician restore the power supply voltage at
the terminals and at the established values.
Have the technician clean or replace the cartridge
Have the FPZ assistance personnel clean the inside of
the unit
