1.1 Important Information
ATTENTION!
The (painted) steel coverings, particularly the upper cover plates, are not
designed to withstand large forces!
ATTENTION!
High centre of mass (low overturning moment)!
ATTENTION!
When installing the on-site pipework, ensure that the pipes are not
contaminated (flush pipes before connecting the compact domestic
ventilation unit (exhaust air)!
ATTENTION!
Only operate the compact domestic ventilation unit (exhaust air) when
filled with water!
ATTENTION!
All connections must be established with the power supply
disconnected!
1.2 Intended Use
This device is only intended for use as specified by the manufac-
turer. Any other use beyond that intended by the manufacturer is
prohibited. This includes the user's abiding by the manufacturer's
product brochures. Please refrain from tampering with or altering
the device.
1.3 Regulations / Safety
Information
ATTENTION!
Read these installation and operating instructions before start-up!
The compact domestic ventilation unit (exhaust air) is exclu-
sively used to heat water for domestic use and drinking
water within the specified operating temperature limits!
Heating fluids other than domestic water is not permitted.
Technical regulations for domestic water installation
(DIN 1988) are to be observed.
Exhaust air should not fall below +15 °C (evaporator may
freeze). Heat pump operation efficiency sinks in proportion
to falling exhaust air temperatures.
It is not permissible to:
- operate the pump with solvent-based or explosive ex-
haust air
- use exhaust air containing grease, dust or sticky
aerosols
- connect extractor hoods to the
ventilation system
E-2
It is not permissible to install the device:
- outdoors
- in rooms which are exposed to frost
- in rooms subject to high humidity (e.g. bathrooms)
- in rooms with air which is potentially explosive because of
gases, vapours or dust.
It is not permissible to operate the device:
- without connecting the outgoing air and exhaust air duct
- without decentralized fresh air elements (on site)
- when the hot water cylinder is empty
- during building construction
The construction and design of the compact domestic venti-
lation unit (exhaust air) complies with all relevant EU direc-
tives (see also CE declaration of conformity).
The technician must ensure that the refrigerant is flushed
adequately to allow maintenance and repair work to be car-
ried out on refrigerant circuit components without risk. Re-
frigerant must be properly handled and disposed of; it must
not be released into the environment!
The refrigerant circuit is hermetically sealed. It contains the
Kyoto protocol approved refrigerant R134a with a GWP
value of 1300. It is CFC-free, does not deplete ozone and is
non-flammable.
Always disconnect the power supply before carrying out any
work on the compact domestic ventilation unit (exhaust air).
When connecting the compact domestic ventilation unit (ex-
haust air) to the power supply, the relevant VDE, EN and
IEC standards must be fulfilled. Also observe the technical
connection requirements of the electrical utility companies.
If there are any fireplaces in the residential building (e.g.
gas-fired water heaters, tile stoves, fireplaces, etc.) it has to
be ensured that the combustion air flow is supplied inde-
pendently of the ventilation system while such fireplaces are
in use. (Please contact your local chimney sweep since reg-
ulations may be enforced differently in different regions).
In general, extractor hoods in recirculating air operation and
condenser tumblers (without outgoing air ducts) should be
used in residential buildings with ventilation systems.
When a vented tumble drier or an extractor hood in exhaust
air operation is operated it must be ensured that an ade-
quate air volume flow is supplied independently of the venti-
lation system.
The valid standards and directives must be observed when in-
stalling the ventilation system for the compact domestic ventila-
tion unit (exhaust air):
- DIN 1946 T1, T2, T6 Ventilation and air conditioning
- VDI 2088 Ventilation systems in residential buildings
- VDI 2087 Air ducts
This heat pump is designed for use in a domestic environ-
ment according to Article 1, Paragraph 2 k) of EC directive
2006/42/EC (machinery directive) and is thus subject to the
requirements of EC directive 2006/95/EC (low-voltage direc-
tive). It is thus also intended for use by non-professionals for
heating shops, offices and other similar working environ-
ments, in agricultural establishments and in hotels, guest
houses and similar / other residential buildings.
