Storage/Transport
5.1 Storage and Transport of the
Compact Domestic Ventilation
Unit (Exhaust Air)
The compact domestic ventilation unit (exhaust air) should gen-
erally be stored and transported packaged in an upright position
without being filled with water. If handled carefully, the device
can be transported over short distances with a max. tilt angle of
45°.
Ambient temperatures between -20 and +70 °C are permissible
during transport and storage.
5.2 Fork Lift Transport
The compact domestic ventilation unit (exhaust air) must remain
mounted on the pallet when being transported via a fork lift. The
pump should be lifted slowly. Because of its high centre of mass,
the compact domestic ventilation unit (exhaust air) must be se-
cured against canting.
Lowering the compact domestic ventilation unit (exhaust air): To
prevent damage, the compact domestic ventilation unit (exhaust
air) must be placed onto a level surface!
5.3 Manual Transport
The wooden pallet can be used to manually transport the heat
pump from below. A second or third carrying position can be cre-
ated with the help of ropes or carrying slings. If the pump is trans-
ported in this manner (or with a hand truck), the max. tilt angle of
45° must not be exceeded (see illustration). If the compact do-
mestic ventilation unit (exhaust air) can only be transported in a
tilted position, it ("heat pump" switch) should not be operated until
at least one hour after installation in its final location (see also the
Chapter 8 "Start-Up").
ATTENTION!
The (painted) steel coverings, particularly the upper cover plates, are not
designed to withstand large forces!
ATTENTION!
High centre of mass (low overturning moment)!

Set-Up
6.1 Installation Location
Installation location criteria:
The device must be installed in a frost-free space (preferably
within the thermal envelope of a building).
Condensate drainage (with a siphon) must be provided by
the customer.
Check the load-bearing capacity of the foundations (filled
system approx. 475 kg). If the heat pump is installed on an
upper storey, measures for isolating any vibrations should
be very carefully planned on account of the acoustics.
Do not operate the compact domestic ventilation unit (ex-
haust air) with exhaust air that is potentially explosive be-
cause of dust, gases or vapours or in rooms with air that is
potentially explosive because of dust, gases or vapours.
To ensure smooth operation and facilitate repair and main-
tenance work there should be a minimum clearance of 0.6 m
to the front and side panels and 0.3 m to the rear panel of
the device, as well as a minimum room height of approx.
2.10 m when the heat pump is installed (flexible air duct con-
nections, nominal width DN 160) (see illustration).
The space required for the routing and connection of the air
duct system must be taken into consideration (if necessary
incl. sound absorbers and exhaust air filters; depending on
the duct system used).

Maintenance and service clearance on all sides of the device
6.2 Set-Up
Remove the three M12 transport restraint screws fixing the
unit to the pallet from the bottom of the unit.
Remove the pallet and mount the three M12 supporting feet
(in the plastic bag attached to the nipple of the cylinder pipe).
(At the position of the transport restraint screws).
Position the device and align the compact domestic ventila-
tion unit (exhaust air) vertically by adjusting the device feet!
Then tighten the counternuts on the device feet.
