ORDINARY, SCHEDULED AND EXTRA MAINTENANCE
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE:
Maintenance of PURA PLUS™ consists simply of changing the filtering cartridges of
the resin container, which is to be carried out once a year.
CHANGING FILTERS AND RESINS (Fig. 19):
1. Close the water tap upstream of PURA PLUS™.
2. If PURA PLUS™ is installed below the level of the autoclave, close the tap on
the back of the autoclave to avoid emptying the tank of the autoclave and the
consequent flooding.
3. Position PURA PLUS™ on a flat surface, unscrew and remove the sediment
pre-filter and the carbon block filter (Fig. 1 & 2). Mop up the small amount of
water that comes out with paper or rags.
4. Screw on the new filters, making sure you put each filter in the right position
(the carbon block filter is fitted on the side, Fig. 3 & 4). Screw them on tightly
but do not over-tighten.
5. Remove the safety clips from the fittings of the resin container (Fig. 5) and
take out the connecting pipes by pressing the retaining ring towards the body
of the fitting and then pulling on the pipe (Fig. 6).
6. Remove the spent resin container and replace it with a new one, taking care
to keep it the same way round (Fig. 7).
7. Insert the pipes in the fittings, press them home (Fig. 8) and insert the safety
clips (Fig. 9 & 10).
8. Turn the two ball valves so that the levers are parallel to the pipes entering
and leaving them (Fig. 11 & 12).
9. Open the water tap upstream of PURA PLUS™ and let the water run for at
least 1 minute.
10. Turn the two ball valves so that the levers are at right angles to the pipes (Fig.
13 & 14).
11. Check that the final condition of PURA PLUS™ resembles the one shown in
figures 15 & 16.
12. Record label of the sediment filter the date of filters exchange of PURA PLUS
™ (Fig. 16 b).
13. Check that no water is leaking out and put PURA PLUS™ in its original
position.
14. Press and hold the button, load water manually on the control panel of the
autoclave until a beep.
Replacing the filters and resins is absolutely necessary after the signal from the
connected autoclave, or IN ANY CASE AFTER 12 MONTHS so as not to compromise
the functionality of the system and also to preserve the osmotic membrane.
