FITTING
1.
Lower spare wheel.
2.
Remove nuts to clean threads on Spreader Plate (F1) – discard nuts. Insert Spreader Plate (F1) inside the double skin of
the boot floor and attach at existing holes using only Bolts (G) and Bolt (H) – fully tighten. Loosely attach Main Frame (A) to
holes (X) provided in the rear cross frame (465mm centres) and loosely attach using bolts (E) with Flat Washers and using
Nuts (J) with Flat Washers attach to Captive Bolts of Spreader Plates (F1). Note: Fitting of Main Frame (A) without first
lowering the exhaust is only possible if the vehicle is raised to head height, to enable the left hand side of Main Frame (A) to
be hooked over the exhaust and then rotated.
3.
Attach forward side arms (C1) and (C2) to holes provided in wheel arch frame using Nuts (D) with Captive Bolt (D1) inserted
from above inside boot. Note: The holes are offset to the outside and are not visible from above. Attach Side arms (C1) and
(C2) to Main Frame (A) and vehicle at holes provided using Bolts (C) with Flat Washers as shown (use flat washers as
packers for Side arm (C2) on outside of chassis where pressing exists). On vehicles fitted with a towing eye to the right
hand chassis rail, use Bushes (C3) at holes (F).
4.
Fully tighten all bolts and refit spare wheel. Note: On some models (i.e. VTS Coupe) it may be necessary to lower the
exhaust slightly to increase clearance this can simply be achieved by rotating the bolted on exhaust hangers on rear panel
by 180 degrees - however this is difficult to achieve with the crossbar (A) in position.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z1) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm , M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
