USER'S MANUAL. GR-205
2 GHz SYNTHESISED RF
1 GENERAL
1.1 Description
This low cost, synthesised RF signal generator features a wide amplitude
range, low noise and inherently good frequency stability. Also, this makes it possible to
modulate both the frequency (FM), and the amplitude (AM) and phase (PM) of the
signals, internally or externally. The instrument can be operated manually via the front
panel or remotely controlled via the RS232 or GPIB interfaces.
The GR-205 is suitable for radio receiver sensitivity measurements, system gain
measurements, oscillator substitutions, EMC / antenna / field strength measurements
and as a signal source for many other RF circuit and system development tasks. In
addition, the generator's low cost, ease of use and remote control make it eminently
suitable for most production and development applications where a basic, stable signal
source is required.
The GR-205 uses a full-synthesised source associated to a crystal oscillator
thermally compensated. These characteristics provide an excellent stability in signal
frequency as opposed to variations of temperature and to the aging.
The handling facility has been one of the main objectives for GR-205 design. A
simple and direct user interface has been combined with a complete remote control
commands set.
The GR-205 can store up to nine different configurations in non-volatile
memory. This capacity allows to make repetitive test procedures of fast and effective
way.
