4.3 OPERATING AND PERFORMANCE CYCLE
The physical principle of operation is very simple - depending
on the specific conditions of temperature and humidity, air can
be cooled and humidified to create a state of comfort in the
environment to be conditioned.
Once the
watertank is filled with water and the electrical
connections are made, it is possible to start the machine by turning
the switch ON. In case of an installed environment thermostat and/
or humidity indicator, the correct time to switch the machine on
will be indicated.
In the correct operation cycle the pump is activated ensuring the
proper wetting of the evaporation panels, and simultaneously the
operation of the fan.
The calculation of the PERIcooler's performance is shown
in the following table, in which, depending on the humidity and
temperature of the inlet air,
measured:
• the air outlet temperature [°C];
• the relative humidity [%];
• the water consumption [l/min];
• the autonomy [hours] when used without water.

In case of water is lacking, a special sensor disconnects the
pump to avoid idle functioning, which could cause damage

4.4 CONSTRUCTION FEATURES
The PERIcooler evaporator coolers consist of three panels
PERIcool
, a self-supporting galvanized body, a hydraulic system
®
completed with a plastic container and a fan group.
The features of the basic parts are listed below:
• The PERIcool
supporting container and are made of impregnated sheets which
are then bent in the form of a wave to optimize the distribution and
the contact between air and water. Special distribution panels are
provided to ensure better and effective water distribution. The
dimensions and the wetting angles are optimized for maximum
functionality and wetting of the evaporation panel. The chassis
has been studied to allow servicing of the machine and the fast
replacement of the PERIcool
In particular, the basic features are:
• The paper: valuable Kraft paper with high density (100g/m
based on pure long grain cellulose, characterized by high
resistance to mechanical stress. This type of paper, being
less loaded with "dust", avoids the release of deposits that
can load the distribution system.
• The resin: based on melamine, thermosetting, which
guarantees, in addition to a good structural rigidity, the
prevention of "decomposition" and formation of mold. Does
not contain phenol and is therefore free of smell and does
not irritate mucous membranes.
• The glue: special vinyl acetate type adhesive suitable for
moisture resistant gluing. Meets the requirements set by EN
204/205 - D3 and EN 204/205 - D4.
• The self-supporting body:
metal sheets guarantees extreme rigidity and strength of the
machine. These features guarantee the requirement in various
installation types.
• The hydraulic system: consists of a water recycling pump, a
filter, pipes for proper distribution to the evaporation panel and
a collection tank of about 290 liters. The latter guarantees a
few hours of autonomy even without the connection to a water
source (see table of performance data).
• The fan group: consists of a spiral fan with six blades directly
coupled to the engine.
