16 Cleaning and Maintenance

This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to cleaning and maintaining
the device. Please observe the notices to prevent damages due to cleaning the device
incorrectly and to ensure trouble-free operation.

16.1 Safety information

Attention
Please observe the following safety notices, before you commence with cleaning the
device:
► The device must be cleaned and food residues must be removed at regular intervals. If
the device is not maintained in a clean condition, this will have a detrimental effect on
the service life of the device and can also result in a dangerous condition in the device
as well as in the growth of fungus and bacteria.
► Switch the appliance off prior to cleaning it and unplug the plug from the wall power
outlet.
► Clean the device directly after use. Extended waiting unnecessarily complicates
cleaning and can make it impossible in extreme cases. Excessive accumulations of
dirt can even damage the device under certain circumstances.
► If dampness penetrates into the device, this can damage the electronic components.
► Do not use any aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
► Do not scrape off stubborn dirt with hard items.

16.2 Cleaning

Drums, feed tube, pusher
Warning
► When you wash the parts be carefull, the drums are sharp.
► Avoid leaving them in soapy water where they may disappear from sight. Risk of
injury!
 Dry completely and store, as you would like other sharp knives, keep out of reach for
children. Always leave it unplugged.
Do not immerse in water or any other liquids. Do not put
in the dishwasher.
Turn the feeding tube clockwise and remove from food
chamber. Remove the drum carefully from the feeding by
touching it at the black frame.
Clean the feeding tube, pusher and drums with warm
soapy water.
