2.5. Threshold adjustment

NOTE
: In the examples given below, we have arbitrarily designated threshold S1 as the safety
threshold and threshold S2 as the complementary threshold. Since the micro switches have the same
characteristics, these configurations can be inverted.

2.5.1. Factory preset load limiters

When you purchase a load limiter HF 31/1/A2 with the factor preset option, the load limiter is supplied with the
adjustment screws and locknuts locked with red varnish. The nameplate on the load limiter indicates the
threshold setting value and the wire rope diameter for which the thresholds have been adjusted. The spacers
supplied and placed between the fixed and mobile half-clamps must mandatorily be reinstalled (see § 2.2 point e).

2.5.2. Adjustment of a safety threshold

Preliminary conditions:
Equipment required:
Lift the two loads
1 (100 % + 10 % WLL)
by about 10 cm.

correct operation.
- Load limiter correctly mounted and wired.
- Adjustment screws unscrewed to the maximum.
- Hook free of any load.
- A load (called "WLL") equivalent to 100 % of the nominal capacity authorized
for the lifting machine.
- An additional load equivalent to 10 % of the "WLL".
ACTIONS
The additional 10 % represents the overshoot
value authorized in accordance with the European
directives.
Gradually screw in the threshold adjustment
screws (§ 2.1 point 06) until the NC contact opens
Adjust
(see § 2.3. b).
Use an ohmmeter, for example, to check the state
of the contact.
It must be possible to lift the "WLL" load.
It must be possible to lift the "WLL" load + 10 %.
Depending on the lifting speed, the dynamic effect

may produce an unintentional overload. In this
case, consult with a technician capable of
integrating a signal filtering device (example: time-
out, etc.).
