Taking pictures with bounce
lighting
Bounce light photography is a
technique which uses the reflected
light from a ceiling or a wall onto
which the light emitted from a flash
unit has been directed.
If the flash is aimed directly at the
front of the subject when the
portrait of a person is to be taken,
for instance, strong shadows may
form or the person's skin and other
areas may appear whitish and
indistinct. However, if the bounce
light technique is used at times like
this, the strong shadows can be
minimized and the subject
captured naturally.
1 While holding down the
bounce unlock button,
turn the flash head so that
it is pointing in the desired
direction.
