4.1 Procedure

1. Switch on the instrument by turning the central switch 3 to the
"Normal" or "Average" position to measure the concentration of CO.
The choice of Normal or Average position depends on how the
instrument is to be used:
If you wish to locate the presence of CO moving around buildings,
use "Normal" mode which has a short response time but, on the other
hand, is less stable.
If, however, you wish to take a measurement in one place, use
the "Average" mode which has a longer response time but gives
greater measurement stability.
2. Reset the measuring instrument to zero (see 4.2).
3. Then place the sensor in the measurement zone, preferably with a
stable temperature and humidity level (see precautions for use).
The instrument starts to react to the presence of CO in the first few
seconds.
Wait until measurement stabilises before recording the value.
4. If the measurement zone is not specifically localised, move around
the buildings and observe the increase in the value displayed to
determine the maximum CO concentration zone.
To measure the concentration of CO in a zone where your hand
cannot reach or where it is still too hot (near a ventilation flap, for
example), use the gas extraction accessory kit. Place the stainless
steel tube in the measurement zone, avoiding warm air turbulence
zones which may vitiate the measurement and affect stability. Extract
gas samples using the manual pump. Wait until the samples are
close to ambient temperature and the measurement has stabilised to
record the measurement.
5. MAX and HOLD modes
Press on the MAX button to memorise and display the maximum
value during the measurement period.
Press on HOLD, the instrument freezes the last measurement
displayed. Press the same button again to exit this mode.
