• When setting up the ladder, take care that there is no
possible risk of it being struck by pedestrians, vehicles
or doors, for example. Lock doors (not emergency exits)
and windows in the work area, if possible

Follow the instruction manual/risk of falling
Do not use damaged ladders
Maximum load
Do not put up the ladder on uneven, loose or
contaminated ground
Avoid leaning out to the side
Only 1 person may stand on the ladder
Only climb up and down whilst facing the ladder
When climbing up or down and working on the ladder,
maintain a firm grip of the ladder
Avoid excessive lateral loads
When using the ladder, do not transport heavy or unwiel-
dy objects on the ladder
Wear suitable footwear
Do not use the ladder in case of physical restrictions.
Certain medical conditions, medication as well as alcohol
and drug abuse, can jeopardise your safety

Ascertain if there are any hazards from electrical
equipment in the work area and do not use the ladder
if there are any electrical hazards. For unavoidable work
which involves live parts, use non-conductive ladders
Do not use the ladder as a bridge

6. Further safety instructions

• Do not remain on the ladder for long periods without
breaks (fatigue is dangerous)
• When transporting ladders on a roof rack, they must be
adequately fastened
• Before using the ladder, check whether it is suitable for
the respective purpose
• Clean all contaminants from the ladder, e.g. wet paint,
dirt, oil or snow
• Do not use the ladder outdoors in unfavourable weather
conditions. (Wind, black ice, ...)
• For commercial use, regular checks of the ladder must
be performed by an appropriately qualified person
• It is prohibited to modify the components of the ladder
• Never change the position of the ladder during use
• With staircase ladders, at least one stringer extension
must be completely inserted
• The ladder leg with the larger stringer extension of the
staircase ladder must not be accessed when the stringer
extension is extended
