• Measure the temple area or behind the ear lobe, carefully following the
instructions.
Temple area
If there is sweat on the forehead, measurement from behind the ear lobe is recommended.

Wipe off sweat
Wait 30 min.

Push back hair
Do not take any temperature
measurements when near to a
stove or air conditioning unit. Do
not use outdoors.
If there is a significant change in ambient
temperature, allow both the thermometer and the
patient to adjust for at least 30 minutes. Wait 30
min. before taking the patient's temperature.
Wipe off any sweat and
push back any hair from
the forehead before
taking a measurement.
