Montage:
– Avant de monter le nouveau tambour de têtes, vérifier si l'axe moteur
est propre et intact (l'axe doit être exempt de graisse et ne doit pas
être touché à main nue).
– Placer l'extracteur dans le nouveau tambour de têtes (avec capu-
chon de protection) de façon que les 3 tétons soient insérés dans le
disque de calage inférieur (l'extracteur est positionné sur "0 lower
plate" (calage inférieur).
– Pivoter la poignée de 90° dans le sens de la flèche "OPEN".
– Positionner le tambour de têtes de façon que le goujon "D" du capuchon
de protection s'imbrique dans l'orifice du stator. Enfoncer le tambour de
têtes en son centre avec une force d'env.1N et pivoter la poignée de
l'extracteur à gauche dans le sens de la flèche "CLOSE" (Fig. 12).
Attention: Le capuchon de protection supérieur et les 2 cales mylar
(épaisseur 0,15mm) restent sur le tambour de têtes pendant l'opé-
ration (Fig. 11).
– Tourner l'extracteur sur la position "3 upper plate" (calage
supérieur) (Fig. 13).
– Déposer le disque de calage sur les tétons de l'extracteur (Fig. 13)
et pivoter la poignée de 90° dans le sens de la flèche "OPEN".
– Placer l'extracteur avec le disque de calage sur le tambour de têtes
et pivoter la poignée de l'extracteur à gauche dans le sens de la
flèche "CLOSE".
– Retirer le capuchon de protection du tambour de têtes et retirer
latéralement les 2 feuilles mylar de l'espacement.
– Enlever le goujon de calage "C" de la partie inférieure de la mécanique.
Réglages et contrôle après remplacement du tambour de têtes:
– Position de commutation de têtes (voir alignements chap. 3).
– Réglage du courant d'enregistrement (voir alignements chap. 3).
– Contrôle du défilement de bande (voir point 3.1).

Installation:
– Before fitting the new headwheel, make sure that the motor spindle
is clean and undamaged (the spindle should be free of grease and
must not be touched with bare hands).
– Put the 3 pins of the extractor into the new headwheel (with
protective cap) so that they are inserted into the lower clamping
element (the extractor is set to the position "0 lower plate")
– Turn the lever by 90° in the direction of the arrow "OPEN".
– Position the headwheel so that pin "D" of the protecting cap engages
with the hole of the stator. Press the headwheel down in the middle
with a force of 1N and turn the lever of the extractor counter
clockwise in the direction of the arrow "CLOSE" (Fig. 12).
Attention: The upper protecting cap and the 2 Mylar films (0.15mm
thick) remain on the headwheel during this process (Fig. 11).
– Change the position of the extractor to "3 upper plate" (upper
clamping element, Fig. 13).
– Place the clamping element onto the pins of the extractor (Fig. 13)
and turn the lever by 90° in the direction of the arrow "OPEN".
– Position the extractor with the clamping element on the headwheel
and turn the lever in the direction of the arrow "CLOSE".
– Remove the protecting cap from the headwheel and withdraw the 2
Mylar films laterally from the air gap.
– Remove the reference pin "C" from the bottom side of the Drive
Mechanism.
Adjustments and Checks after Replacement of the Headwheel:
– Adjust the headwheel position indicator (see adjustment, chapter 3).
– Adjust the write current (see adjustment, chapter 3).
– Check the tape transport (see para 3.1).
