5 ExPREss MOdE
When the window covering is in any position, you can open or close it fully (bypassing the
intermediate stop) as follows:
(1) Press the appropriate group button
(2) Press and hold the OPEN or CLOSE button for 2 seconds. The window covering opens
or closes fully.
Note: the Express Mode is only available for Silhouette® and Duette® shades.
6 PROdUcT sPEcIfIc OPERATION
See section "3. Radio Control" for information about using the remote to operate a
window covering. All features can be enjoyed using either Infra-red or radio control.
6.1. duette® shades
This section includes the operating information for these products:
• D uette® Bottom-Up shades
• D uette® Top-Down/Bottom-Up shades
6.1.1. Bottom-Up shades
For shades with the Bottom-Up design option, the bottom rail moves up and down by
pressing the UP or DOWN button on the remote.
6.1.2. Top-down/Bottom-Up and duolite™ shades
Shades with the Top-Down/Bottom-Up and Duolite™ design option have two moving
rails; see picture F.
Note: The bottom rail must be in the fully lowered position to operate the middle rail. The
middle rail must be in the fully raised position to operate the bottom rail.
Lower the Bottom Rail
(1) With the middle and bottom rail fully raised, press the group button assigned to the
shade.
(2) Press the DOWN button to lower the bottom rail and cover the window.
Lower the Middle Rail
(1) With the bottom rail fully lowered, press the group button assigned to the shade.
(2) Press the DOWN button to lower the middle rail while the bottom rail remains fully
lowered.
Raise the Middle Rail
(1) With the bottom rail fully lowered, press the group button assigned to the shade.
(2) Press the UP button to raise the middle rail while the bottom rail remains fully
lowered.
Raise the Bottom Rail
(1) With the middle rail fully raised, press the group button assigned to the shade.
(2) Press the UP button to raise the bottom rail and uncover the window.
6.2. silhouette® window shadings
Lower the Bottom Rail
(1) With the bottom rail fully raised, press the group button assigned to the shade.
(2) Press the DOWN button to lower the bottom rail with the vanes closed and cover the
window.
Adjusting Vanes
(1) With the bottom rail fully lowered, press the group button assigned to the shade.
(2) Press the UP or DOWN button to start adjusting the vanes. Press the opposite or
button to stop the vanes in the desired position.
Note: Vane alignment between shadings may not be exact.
6.3. Horizontal Venetian Blinds
Adjusting Slats
(1) Press the group button assigned to the blind.
(2) Press the UP or DOWN button to start adjusting the slats. Press the opposite or
button to stop the slats in the desired position.
Note: Slats alignment between blinds may not be exact.
7 TROUBLEsHOOTING
7.1. General Problems
Problem:
Window covering does not operate with the remote.
solution:
(1) Make sure the Indicator Light on the remote comes on when you try to operate the
window covering.
• If the Indicator Light does not come on, replace the batteries in your remote.
(2) Operate the window covering using its manual control button. If the window
covering doesn't operate, make sure it has power:
Note: The manual control button is usually next to the sensor eye of the window covering.
• I f the window covering is battery powered, replace the batteries in the battery wand
or satellite battery pack.
• I f the window covering is powered from a DC power supply, make sure it is plugged
in and the wall outlet has power.
(3) If the batteries in the remote are good and the window covering works when you use
the manual control button, do one of the following:
• I f the Indicator Light is red when you press the UP or DOWN button, go to problem
"No radio control operation".
• I f the Indicator Light is a steady green when you press the UP or DOWN button, go
to problem "No radio control operation".
• I f the Indicator Light is flashing green, you are in setup mode. Wait 30 seconds or
use a paperclip to press and release the SETUP button to exit setup mode.
Problem:
No Infra-red operation.
solution:
• M ake sure that the correct channel is selected on the remote. Most window coverings
are set to Channel 1, but if Channel 1 does not work, move the Infra-red Channel
Selector switch to Channel 2.
• M ake sure that you are pointing the remote at the sensor eye.
• M ake sure that you are close enough to the sensor eye.
• M ake sure that the sensor eye is not covered or obstructed.
• M ake sure that there is no direct sunlight or bright, focused light shining on the sensor
eye.
