8 IMPORTANT

8.1. safety instructions

WARNING - FOR SAFETY REASONS IT IS IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN A SAFE PLACE.
• K eep the remote out of reach of children and animals.
• B efore any maintenance or inspection of electrical components or removal of the
shade/blind takes place, the power supply needs to be disconnected in a safe manner.
• R egularly inspect the electrical installation and the shade/blind, including leads and
cables, for signs of wear, tear and/or damage.
• T he shade/blind must not be kept and/or used in damp, dusty and/or unsafe areas.
• D o not use the shade/blind if cleaning or repair is necessary or desirable.
• E nsure that the shade/blind is switched off and cannot be operated if activities are
being carried out in the vicinity of the shade/blind, such as cleaning of windows or
walls.
• D o not place any objects in the path of the shade/blind; this can lead to damage to the
shade/blind, the object and/or people.
• I n operation, the shade/blind needs to be kept in sight at all times.
• A part from the remote's and/or motor's battery compartment, the shade/blind must
not be opened.
• F or service and/or repair, contact only Luxaflex® or one of its authorised
representatives. Service and/or repairs, alterations and/or adaptations of the shade/
blind by unauthorised persons automatically nullifies the guarantee on the shade/blind
and may cause irreparable damage.
• O nly use the prescribed batteries and replace regularly.
• U sed batteries must not be placed in the ordinary household refuse, but need to be
disposed according to the locally applicable laws and regulations.
8.2. Warning
Infra-red operation can be affected by sunlight, TL light, spotlight and other light
sources which contain light frequencies in the Infra-red spectrum. The Infra-red signal
emitted by the remote can be reflected by objects and surfaces. Radio control can
be affected by the surroundings, metals and electromagnetic frequencies present in
the environment. If, when programming the group channels, products other than
the intended shade/blind also react, this can best be resolved by shielding the Infra-
red signal. This can be done, for example, by placing a paper cylinder between the
transmission and reception elements so that the Infra-red signal only passes between
the relevant remote and sensor eye.
