9.4. CLAMPING THE WHEEL

Keep your hands and other body parts away from moving parts of the machine while
moving the wheel locking wedges.
If the wheel weighs more than 10 kg, with a lifting frequency of more than 20
wheels/hour, it is recommended to use a lifting device (optional).
- Pull the unlocking button (fig. 18a) to position the
operating arms in the "non-working" position (tool at
the top and the horizontal arm completely retracted).
- Press button (fig. 18a) to lock the arms into the
"non-working" position.
- Press pedal
into the "non-working" position.
- Turntable jaws opening and closing is car-
ried out by sequentially pressing the control
pedal
(Fig. 18).
- With the jaws completely closed, lightly
press the control pedal and move it to the
central position (Fig. 18). In this configuration,
it is possible to carry out dead-man control
of jaws opening and then stop them in the
desired position.
- If the rim is blocked from the outside (Fig. 19a), pre-position the locking wedges using the
references of the diameters shown on the turntable and the notch on the jaw (Fig. 19b).
E.g.: Rim 18", pre-position the jaws making the notch match with value 18".
