7.
Open hood by pushing in on the rear,
right-side tab with your right hand, as seen
in (1) of Figure 11, and lifting the cover with
your left hand in the center rear of the
bagger cover (2).
8.
Install both bag assemblies onto the bag
support brackets by inserting the front edge
in first, as seen in (1) of Figure 12, and
setting the back edge down until it fits into
the assembly (2).
Installing the Boot Rod &
Hardware (42"/46")
1.
From the inside of the boot, put the two
hex head screws (738-1225) from
hardware pack 689-00636, through the
holes at the bottom at the front of the
boot. See Figure 13.
2.
Put the mounting rod (712-06043) from
hardware pack 689-00636 in place
over the hex head screws. Make sure the
tip of the rod is facing out from the boot.
See Figure 13.
3.
Begin threading the flange lock nuts
(712-04064) from hardware pack 689-00636
onto the hex head screws. See Figure 13.
4.
Using a 7/16" wrench or socket on the
screw and a 7/16" box wrench on the lock
nuts, tighten down so the flange is flush to
secure the assembly.
Installing the Boot Rod & Hardware (50"/54")
1.
From the inside of the boot, put the two
hex head screws (738-1225) from hardware
pack 689-02199 through the holes at the
bottom front of the boot. See Figure 14.
2.
Put the mounting rod (747-06309) from
hardware pack 689-02199 in place over
the hex head screws. Make sure the top
of the rod is facing out from the boot. See
Figure 14.
3.
Begin threading the flange lock nuts (712-04064) from hardware pack 689-02199 onto
the hex head screws. See Figure 14.
4.
Using a 7/16" wrench or socket on the screw and a 7/16" box wrench on the lock nuts,
tighten down so flange is flush to secure the assembly.
Assembling & Configuring the Discharge Chute (42"/46")
Determine if your deck is a newer model, or an older model. If your deck has a mounting
stud present, then you have a newer deck model and you should refer to the instructions
that follow. If no stud is present, refer to the instructions titled "Tractors With Older Deck
Configurations" later in this section.
1.
Place deck into the lowest cutting position.

If present, remove the protective cap off of
the mounting stud on the mowing deck as
shown in (1) of Figure 15.
With the tractor' s discharge chute raised up
and held open (2), install the chute elbow by
placing the chute elbow mounting pin into
the hole provided (3), as shown in Figure 15.
Secure the chute elbow to the deck using
the wing knob (720-04122) from hardware
pack 689-02200. See Inset Figure 16.
IMPORTANT!: Be certain that the bottom
of the discharge chute is positioned inside
of the lip of the deck opening, as shown in
Figure 17.
Install the rubber chute strap onto
the chute elbow using the supplied
clevis pin (711-05063), washer (736-0204)
and bow-tie cotter pin (714-04040) from
hardware pack 689-02239A. See Figure 18.
Secure the end of the strap utilizing the hole
furthest from the end, insert the smaller hook
end of the torsion spring hook (732-04510A)
into the other end (1).
Install the deck mounting pin (711-05049)
up into the chute elbow using two flat
washers (736-0176) from hardware pack
689-02239A and secure with a flange lock nut
(712-3027), as shown in Figure 18.
Remove the boot mounting rod and
hardware as indicated in Figure 18.
With the tractor's discharge chute raised up
and held open, install the chute elbow over
the chute opening by placing the deck
mounting pin in the hole provided, as
shown in the upper inset of Figure 20, then
secure the elbow to the deck by hooking
the retainer strap torsion spring hook over
the deck wheel mounting bracket as shown
in Figure 19.
On decks without deck wheels, hook the
retainer straps into the hole provided in the
flange on the front-side of cutting deck.
See Figure 20.
