When using the tool as a pull-push saw, the saw blade needs
to be able to move freely along the entire cutting length.
– Push the locking mechanism (11) to the right to loosen
the connecting rod.
Sawing with the slide function (see figure K)
– Set the desired mitre angle on the universal guide (2)
(see "Setting the mitre angle (universal guide) (see figure
H)", page 25).
Note: To prevent the workpiece from slanting or slipping,
the distance between the saw blade (3) and the addi-
tional stop (21) must not be more than 15 mm.
– Set the desired bevel angle (see "Setting the Bevel Angle
(Saw Blade)", page 25).
– Place the workpiece on the saw table in front of the pro-
tective guard (4).
– Hold onto the workpiece tightly and press it firmly against
the stop.
– Switch on the power tool.
– Pull the saw blade (3) evenly to the front through the
workpiece using the connecting rod (10).
– Push the connecting rod to the rear again.
– Switch off the power tool and wait until the saw blade has
come to a complete stop.
Sawing – table Saw Operation
When table sawing, push the workpiece backwards against
the fixed saw blade.
This operating mode is suitable for:
– Cuts with and against the grain
– Mitre/bevel cuts
– Cutting lengths over 220 mm
Conversion to table saw (see figure L)
When using the tool as a table saw, the universal guide can
be fitted in either of the two outer guide grooves (25) or in
the guide groove (24) (see "Mounting the universal guide
(see figure A)", page 24).
When using the tool as a table saw, the saw blade must be
locked in the middle of the saw table.
– Push the locking mechanism (11) to the left and hold it
there. Pull the connecting rod (10) forwards until the
locking mechanism engages in the first set-up position.
Sawing
– Set the desired bevel angle (see "Setting the Bevel Angle
(Saw Blade)", page 25).
– Only when mounting the universal guide in the guide
groove (24): Set a mitre angle of 0° (see "Setting the
mitre angle (universal guide) (see figure H)", page 25).
– If required, mount the additional stop (21) on the univer-
sal guide (2) (see "Mounting the universal guide (see fig-
ure A)", page 24).
Note: During sawing, workpieces may become trapped
between the universal guide and the saw blade, or be
caught and flung away by the saw chain as it rises.
Ensure that the additional stop (21) is mounted correctly
Bosch Power Tools
(see "Mounting the additional stop (see figure B)",
page 24).
– Place the workpiece on the saw table in front of the pro-
tective guard (4).
– Switch on the power tool.
– Saw through the workpiece applying uniform feed.
When using narrow workpieces or sawing a bevel angle,
always use the push stick (9) and the universal guide (2)
provided.
– Switch off the power tool and wait until the saw blade has
come to a complete stop.
Storage and Transport
Storing the power tool (see figure M)
– Push the locking mechanism (11) to the left and hold it
there. Push the connecting rod (10) back as far as it will
go until the locking mechanism engages.
– Push the push stick (9) into the push stick storage (8) in-
tended for this purpose.
– If possible, place unused saw blades in an enclosed con-
tainer or in the accessories drawer (18) for transport.
– Push the additional stop (21) into the holder.
– Push the workpiece support (34) into one of the guide
grooves.
– Wrap the power cable around the cable holder (20).
Transporting the Power Tool
Only transport the power tool using the transport
u
devices – never use the protective guard or the slide
mechanism.
– Always carry the power tool using the transport handles
(7).
Maintenance and servicing
Maintenance and cleaning
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
In order to avoid safety hazards, if the power supply cord
needs to be replaced, this must be done by Bosch or by an
after-sales service centre that is authorised to repair Bosch
power tools.
Cleaning
To ensure safe and efficient operation, always keep
u
the power tool and the ventilation slots clean.
Always remove dust and chips after working by blowing out
with compressed air or using a brush.
The protective guard (4) must always be able to move freely
and retract automatically. It is therefore important to keep
the area around the protective guard (4) clean at all times.
Remove dust and chips by blowing out with compressed air
or using a brush.
