IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the
following.
1.
Read all instructions.
2.
Do not use coffeemaker for other than intended use.
3.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or
has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to an authorised service facility for
examination, repair, or adjustment.
4.
To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or coffeemaker in water or any
other liquid.
5.
Avoid contact with the warming plate or the hot surface of the carafe. Take also care not to come
in contact with the hot steam.
6.
Do not leave the appliance switched on unattended. Close supervision is necessary when any
appliance is used by or near children.
7.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
8.
Do not spill water or coffee over the warming plate or any other part of the coffeemaker.
9.
Unplug from outlet when coffeemaker is not in use and before cleaning the coffeemaker.
10.
The use of an accessory not evaluated for use with this coffeemaker may cause hazards.
11.
Do not use outdoors.
12.
Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
VOLTAGE
Make sure the voltage on the specification plate of the coffeemaker corresponds to the voltage in your
house before plugging in the coffeemaker.
This appliance is in conformity with the EG-directive 89/336/EC

GENERAL INFORMATION

This new coffeemaker has a capacity of 1 litre so you can make quickly and easily 2 to 12 cups of coffee.
You can use the well-known paper disposable filters or the special permanent filter delivered with this
coffeemaker If you use disposable filters it is recommended that you place them in the permanent filter.
Paper filter size: 1 x 2. The appliance has a warming plate to keep your coffee warm after brewing.

BEFORE FIRST USE

First unplug the coffeemaker before cleaning. Wash carafe, basket, and serving lid in hot, sudsy water.
Rinse and dry.
To thoroughly clean the inside of your new coffeemaker, brew 2 carafes of tap water, if desired added by
some vinegar. See section "How to brew coffee". Do not add coffee grounds to basket. Throw the water
away and clean with second carafe of clean water.
