We recommend the following installation precautions:
• The hole for the cables must be pointing downwards (to avoid moisture entering the enclosure).
• The cables must be long enough and connected to the electronics board, as in the diagram opposite,
with the water droplet principle (cable passes under the Karbu Link box).
Be aware: water leaks flow over the cable. If the installation is not compliant, there is a risk of
short circuit to the electronics board. It is advisable to protect the electronics, with protection
above the fuel price lines, to avoid water entering.
• The cables must be braced to hold them in place.
• Never jam the ribbons between the panels of the petrol price sign or bring them into contact with the field of a panel
in case the ribbon is cut. To avoid any cuts in the ribbon in the hole in the metal casing, fitting a seal (plastic, foam,
etc.) is recommended. Thanks to this seal, the cable can be in contact on the edge of the hole with an angle and
contact that prevent it from being cut.
• Always leave a distance of 50 cm minimum between the bottom of the Karbu Link and the
ground. This avoids water spray on the electronics (water bounces off the ground and splashes
the bottom of the Petrol price sign).
• We recommend installing the Karbu Link at 1.5 m for easier maintenance and to limit water
spray on the product electronics as much as possible.
• To remove condensation inside the Petrol price sign, ventilation is recommended.
Ventilation is achieved by making air holes at the four corners of the petrol price sign (at top
and bottom.) To avoid insects or small animals entering, it is essential to fit anti-insect grilles on
each air hole.
It is essential to plug/seal the lower part of the Petrol price sign to prevent rodents from
entering.
