Field Railroad Set
THE PROTOTYPE
Light-duty, narrow-gauge railways
transport goods in factories,
mines, quarries, as well as on
farms and construction sites
around the world. These "field"
railroads rapidly gained world-
wide
popularity
whether to haul agricultural prod-
ucts on the large estates of the
Baltic island of Rügen, sugar
cane on plantations in the U. S. or
slate in British quarries.
In recent decades, motorized
trucks have made inroads, but a
few light railroads continue to
operate. For example, the con-
struction of the Channel tunnel
between Britain and France
employed modern light railroads.
Mining operations use small loco-
motives. And finally, you can enjoy
light railroads in numerous muse-
ums and parks.
THE MODEL
This set contains a field railroad
diesel locomotive and six field
railway cars.
The locomotive features:
- weather-resistant construction
- protected gearbox with seven-
pole Bühler motor
- four powered wheels
- six power pickups
- length: 190 mm (7.5 in)
- weight: 1370 g (3.0 lb)

LOCOMOTIVE OPERATION
Attention! This locomotive is
equipped with a toothed drive
belt. To protect the drive mecha-
nism, do not push the locomotive
by hand.
Couplers
The field railroad buffers at each
end of the locomotive work as
loop-type couplers. To couple, the
first car of your train has to be ori-
ented with the coupler hook fac-
ing the loco.
You can replace the buffers with a
standard LGB coupler loop, avail-
able from your LGB service sta-
tion as spare part 1.20140.200.1
(2 pieces needed) (see Autho-
rized Service).
Power Supply
Attention! For safety and reliabil-
ity, operate this model with LGB
power supplies (transformers,
power packs and controls) only.
The use of non-LGB power sup-
plies will void your warranty.
Use this model with LGB power
supplies with an output of at
least 1 amp. For more informa-

Multi-Train System
This model has a "D" gearbox.
For Multi-Train System operation,
it can be equipped with a LGB
MTS Decoder (55020).
We strongly recommend decoder
installation by an LGB service
station. For more information,
contact your authorized LGB
retailer or an LGB service station
(see Authorized Service).
Attention! After extended opera-
tion, this model may leave carbon
dust or other debris around the
track. This dust and debris can
stain carpet and other materials.
