3.1
Safety instructions for
installation
D WARNING!
Hazard through disregard of the
installation instructions!
This chapter contains important
information for the safe installation of the
device.
☞ Read through this chapter carefully
before installing the device.
☞ Follow the safety instructions.
☞ Carry out the installation as described.
y Electrical work must only be
undertaken by qualified electricians.
D "1.2 Authorised target groups"
(page 42).
y The hob and other parts that can be
touched must be allowed to cool
prior to installation.
y Cables must not be kinked, crushed
or damaged.
y The safety distances from the device
must be observed:
y 40 cm to the work top
y 30 cm to other kitchen appliances
y 20 cm from the floor and live
cables
y The device must be protected from
moisture and splash water.

y The device must not be mounted
in a metallic enclosure or in close
proximity to metallic objects.
y The device must remain accessible
at all times for maintenance work
(e.g. through a detachable rear wall
or service panel).
y Only operate the device within a
temperature range between +5 °C
and +40 °C.
3.2
Preparation for installation
☞ Familiarise yourself with the
installation situation and the
associated documents:
y Device and installation
instructions
y Extractor hood
y Hob
y Installation location
The device is connected to the extractor
hood via radio or cable. Requirement:
y The distance between the device and
extractor hood must not exceed 5 m.
☞ Keep the installation area free of
objects that could be in the way or
that could be damaged.
☞ Make sure that the hob and other
parts that could be touched have
cooled down.
