OPERATION
As soon as the device is connected to the power supply and the power switch (Fig. 2, (2)) has been turned on, the STBY LED on the active
loudspeaker lights up red. The speaker is then in stand-by mode. 4 difference audio sources can be connected to the active loudspeaker at
the same time via the outputs (6), (7), (8) and Bluetooth. The speaker is switched on using the remote control (Fig. 3, (12)) and an audio source
selected using the button (17). The volume is regulated via the button (12), the speaker can be switched to mute using button (16). With the
BASS (14) and TREBLE (13) buttons, the bass and treble levels can be adjusted to the set-up and your own personal listening taste. The RESET
button is used to reset the bass and treble control to the neutral position.
Alternatively, the loudspeaker can be operated on the active speaker's rear connection panel (Fig. 2). Pressing the VOLUME/SOURCE control
(9) the first time switches on the active speaker, pressing it again selects the inputs in turn. The volume is regulated by turning the control.
Prolonged pressing switches the loudspeaker to stand-by mode.
Please note:
All MAGNAT loudspeakers are designed and built for optimum sound reproduction with the tone controls in the central position – i.e. with
"linear" amplifier output. Turning up the bass and treble controls too far delivers more power to the woofers and/or tweeters, and at high
volumes this can actually destroy the speaker units! Always turn the volume down immediately as soon as you hear distortion!
INSTALLATION OF THE SPEAKERS
The loudspeakers are placed at ear height or a little above on the left and right besides the listening position. There should be a clear line
of sight between the loudspeakers and the listening position. Any sound-absorbing or reflecting obstacles in the path will distort the sound.
The MAGNAT Monitor Active 2000 speakers have been optimised for installation close to a wall, meaning they are ideal for use on a table,
sideboard, shelf or in a rack.
When you install the loudspeakers the following distances should be maintained: The distance to the sides and rear to walls and items should
be at least 5 cm.
If the speakers are arranged on a shelf, there must be a minimum clearance of 5 cm to the shelves above or the ceiling.
CAUTION
Interfering with the speaker or accessories shall result in the expiration of the operating licence. The supplied accessories are to be used for
operation. Additional accessories must be intended for the purpose at hand and in perfect working order.

AUTO STANDBY FUNCTION

The unit has an Auto Standby function that automatically switches the device to stand-by mode if no audio signal is detected on the inputs over
a period of approx. 60 minutes. This function implements an EU energy-saving regulation (1275/2008 EC), reducing power consumption if the
device is accidentally left turned on after use.
This function can be deactivated as follows:
Press the MUTE button on the remote control. Then keep the Volume/Source control at the rear of the right speaker depressed for 5 seconds
and release it. The green LED flashes twice in the display as confirmation. The Auto Stand-by function has been deactivated.
Repeat the procedure to re-activate the Auto Stand-by function. The green LED flashes once in the display as confirmation.
