3 Indoor unit operation when error signal input (Fig. 5-7)
• The error signal is only enabled during indoor unit operation.
• When error signal ON
When the error signal is detected to be ON, the operation state of the indoor unit
changes to thermostat OFF, and the supply of refrigerant to the indoor unit is
shut off.
An error is detected after the error signal ON state continues for approximately 3
minutes, and the error code 5101 is displayed on the remote controller.
• When the error signal is changed from ON to OFF
In the case of before error detection, normal operation is restored after
approximately 3 minutes.
In the case of after error detection, the error state continues until the error
is cancelled with the remote controller or the like. (The error is not cancelled
automatically when the error signal is changed to OFF.)
4 Restrictions
• The maximum length of the error signal input cable is 3 m (9.8 Ft).
An extension cannot be connected.
• Do not apply a voltage to the error signal input cable.
Only non-voltage a contact input is supported.
For the PKFY-BM model, it is possible to extract a signal for an external heater
using the method shown below.
When using this unit, the optional external output cable (PAC-SA88HA) is also
required.
*1. "Free contact function" of External heater and TG-2000 cannot be used.
Turn Dip switch SW1-5 of the indoor unit control board "ON" to use "free
contact function".
6.1. Connecting external output cable
Use the cable with the connector that fits the connector on the indoor unit control
board.
• External output cable (PAC-SA88HA)
This cable is used to connect the relay circuit that is used for an inter locked
operation of indoor unit and electric heater. Connect the cable to connector CN52
on the indoor unit control board.
6.2. Locally Procured Wiring
A basic connection method is shown. Please refer to the service manual for details.

Not for use.
Insulate it securely with insulation
tape or something similar.
• For relay X use the specifications given bellow Operation coil
Rated voltage: 12VDC
Power consumption: 0.9W or less
* Use the diode that is recommended by the relay manufacturer at both of the
relay coil.
• The length of the electrical wiring for the PAC-SA88HA is 2 meters (6-1/2 ft)
To extend this length, use sheathed 2-core cable.
Control cable type: CVV, CVS, CPEV or equivalent.

Cable size: 0.5 mm
to 1.25 mm
(16 to 22 AWG)
Don't extend the cable more than 10 meters (32 ft)
• Recommended circuit (Fig. 6-2)
6.3. Wiring Restrictions
Keep the length of the cable connecting to the circuit board of the indoor unit
shorter than 10 meters (32 ft). Longer than 10 meters (32 ft) could cause improper
operation.
Use a transit relay when extending wiring such as remote wiring.
