Generally speaking the stove should undergo a thorough maintenance at least once a year if the appliance is used
frequently. We recommend carrying out smaller maintenance work such as removing ashes and cleaning the glass at
more regular intervals. Note that the stove may only be cleaned when it is cooled down.
Removing ashes
Depending on the frequency of use, the ashtray should be emptied
regularly in order to avoid the ash from reaching the wood grill.
When it does reach the wood grill, the grill cannot cool down and the
cast iron parts will start melting.
Fill the ash tray with the help of the shaking grid lever. From to time
residual ashes should be removed from the coal grill using the poker.
Simply hook the pin of the operating tool into the front plate of the
ash pan and carefully pull it out of the appliance to empty it.
Removing the grid and hopper
After regular use (depending on the amount of ashes) the burning chamber, the grid and the space of the ashtray must
be cleaned thoroughly. It's recommended to use a vacuum cleaner for this. Make sure the stove is cooled down first.
Take out the hopper, remove the standing grate on the front from its supports and then remove the coal grate from
the frame. Finally remove the ash tray from the appliance.
Cleaning the flue
Flue dust and ashes must be removed from the smoke discharge duct
(between the cleaning hatch and the back plate) every year. The
smoke discharge duct can be accessed by removing the cleaning
hatch. This makes it easy to remove the ashes from the discharge
duct as well as the connector. The cleaning hatch must remounted
correctly afterwards.
Cleaning painted surfaces
Dust the remaining ashes from the painted parts using a soft hand brush or cotton cloth. Never
wash the appliance with water! This can cause rust.
Cleaning the cooking plate
The polished cooking plate will glow wand turn blue during use. This is a normal phenomenon. The polished cooking
plate can be cleaned using steel wool and the optional cleaning product.
Avoid spilling water on a hot cooking plate as this may burst the plate!
