b) Maintenance tips
After a period of time, calcareous deposits accumulate on the inside of the kettle. An
excessive amount of lime may affect the proper functioning of the kettle. Thus, a
decalcification can be necessary:
 Half fill the kettle with water and white vinegar (2 doses of water for 1 dose of
vinegar).
 Boil this mixture and allow it to stand for the night.
 The following day, rinse the kettle and boil water for 2 or 3 times to vanish vinegar.
If the amount of lime is excessive, use a commercially-available decalcifying solution. Never
try to decalcify the kettle by chipping away or scratching.
