c) Never operate the machine
when third parties, in particular
children, or animals, are nearby.
d) Keep in mind that the operator
or user is responsible for any
accidents that he may cause or
dangers that he causes other
people or their property to incur.
2 Preparation
a) When operating the machine,
always wear strong boots and
long trousers.
Do not operate the machine
barefooted or in sandals. Avoid
wearing clothes that are
voluminous or have loose cords,
or a necktie.
b) Inspect the whole zone in
which the machine will be used
and remove all objects that it
could throw up.
c) Before use, always inspect the
machine visually to detect wear
or damage to the cutter, bolts
and its assembly. Replace used
or damaged components in
complete sets, so as to keep
good balancing. Replace
damaged or illegible labels.
d) Before use, check the supply
cable and the extension cable to
detect signs of damage or
ageing. If the cable is damaged
in use disconnect it from the
electricity mains immediately. DO
NOT TOUCH THE CABLE
BEFORE YOU HAVE
DISCONNECTED IT FROM THE
ELECTRICITY MAINS.
Do not use the machine if the
cable is damaged or worn.
3 Operation
a) Only use the machine in
daylight or under good artificial
light.
b) Avoid operating the machine
on wet grass.
c) Always keep a good foothold
on slopes.
d) Walk, do not run.
e) Cut across slopes, never up or
down.
f) Take great care when changing
direction on slopes.
g) Do not cut excessively steep
slopes.
h) Use the machine with great
care going backwards or pulling it
towards you.
i) Stop the cutters if the machine
must be tilted to be transported
through grassless zones and
when it must be transported to, or
back from, the place where it is
used.
j) Never use the machine with
defective guards or without the
safety devices in place, for
example deflectors and/or grass
boxes.
k) Take precautions when
starting the motor by following
the instructions and with the feet
well away from the cutter or
cutters.
l) Never tilt the machine when
starting the motor, unless it must
be tilted for starting. In this case,
never tilt it more than absolutely
necessary and only tilt the part
furthest from the operator.
