Once your Stove has been installed and connected to the chimney, it is ready to light a fire.
Before lighting your stove for the first time, it is necessary to become familiar with the
different control systems and features of your stove such as how to choose firewood, and
how to light your stove and use it on a daily basis.
Although your stove is simple to operate, the combustion process of solid fuels is
complex, as various factors are involved and both time and experience are required to
understand how it works.
ALWAYS BEAR IN MIND that the stove produces heat and therefore keep children,
clothing, furniture... away as contact may produce burns.
Some advice is given below which allows you to understand your stove and its
operation, which you are urged to read carefully.
2.1.1 CONTROLS (Fig. 13)
To open the hearth door, turn the lever in a
clockwise direction until the open position ("Ten
To" position on the clock) and gently pull outwards.
To close it, keep the lever in the open position
("Ten To" position on the clock) close the door, by
exerting a slight pressure and turn the lever gently
in an anti- clockwise direction until the closed
position ("Twenty To" position on the clock).
To open the ash pan door, turn the lever in an anti-
clockwise direction, from the horizontal closed
position to the vertical open position, and gently
lower the door.
To close it, reverse the operation. Keep the lever
in the vertical position, close the door, by exerting
a slight pressure and turn the lever gently in a
clockwise direction until the horizontal closed
position.
2.1.2. - CONTROLS (Fig. 14)
Primary Air Regulation
Open the glass cleaning air valve fully when you light the stove.
The air that enters via the valve is sufficient to achieve a good lighting of the stove and
maintain its optimum operation.
Once an optimum burn rate is achieved, regulate the valve to avoid excessive air intake, and
excessive combustion and temperatures.
The intermediate position is generally the optimum, depending, however, on the quality of the
chimney flue and the type of fuel used (hard or soft wood).
If the chimney flue is insufficient and does not reach an optimum burn rate, use the primary
air valve to increase the air intake.
