11.4.2 Removing a broken flash tube

If the glass of the flash tube is broken, the
capacitor of the studio flash unit cannot be
discharged as described above. To avoid
electrical shock, the flash tube must be
replaced with the insulated tool described
above. It is important that work be carried
out with particular care.

11.4.3 Installing a new flash tube

Only an identical flash tube may be rein-
stalled!
- Plug the two plug-in pins d of the new
flash tube loosely into the socket
designated for that purpose.
- Press on the two plug-in pins d care-
fully and uniformly until the new flash
tube c is seated firmly on the end stop.
May sure you do not bend the wires of
the plug-in pins!
- Hook in the spring clip b once again
with the needle nose pliers.
- Plug in the bulb a of the modelling
lamp.
- Replace the reflector
.

11.4.4 Replacing the bulb

Only an identical bulb may be reinstal-
led!
See picture E.
The studio flash unit must be switched
off and the power plug must be pulled
out of the power socket.
Always use a clean, grease-free cloth or
cotton gloves to take hold of bulb a.
- Pull out bulb a
- Carefully pull the bulb a out of the
socket.
- If no further flash photographs will
be taken, then put the protective cap
back on.
- Plug in bulb a
- Carefully plug the bulb into the socket.
