Installation instructions:
1. Fasten the base plate 1 to the dead-end transverse girder or the tow hook at "a" with four
cylinder screws M10 with hexagon slot and low head (e.g. according to DIN 7984), property
class 10.9, washers 10.5 as well as nuts M10, property class 10.
Torque for M10 at "a" = 55 Nm
2. Towing hitch or bolt coupling can be fastened to the removable plates 2 at "b" with cylinder
screws M10 with hexagon slot, washers 10.5 and nuts M10.
Refer to the installation instructions of these components for property class and torque.
Be sure the screws are long enough.
Operating instructions:
Note !
Check the removable plate system for proper locking mechanism before every journey.
The red "e" marking may not be visible and the spring cotter 4 or respectively
the padlock has to be plugged in securely in the securing bore hole "d" of bolt 3.
Check for firm seating by rattling it by hand.
In case the test of these points is not satisfactory, repeat the assembly. If just one of these points
is not met, the towed vehicle assembly may not be put into operation. Contact the manufacturer.
Never unlock when the towed vehicle or mounted trailer is connected.
It none of the removable plates 2 is mounted, then the covering plate 5 always has to be attached
to the base plate 1.
Installation and disassembly can be done manually without great effort. Never use aids, tools and
so forth, because the mechanism may be damaged otherwise.
Installation
1. Remove covering lid 5 from base plate 1.
2. Slide removable plate 2 onto the pin of the base plate 1.
3. Slide bolt 3 through bore hole "c" in the removable plate 2 and through bore hole "c" in the
base plate 1 at the same time all the way to the stop. Red marking "e" not visible.
4. Insert the spring cotter 4 through the securing bore hole "d" in bolt 3.
The spring cotter 4 can be replaced by a padlock (theft prevention).
Disassembly
1. Pull the spring cotter 4 or the padlock from bolt 3.
2. Press handle 6 and pull the bolt 3 from the plates 1 and 2.
3. Pull removable plate 2 from the pins of base plate 1.
4. Press covering lid 5 onto base plate 1.
Maintenance instructions
1. So as to guarantee proper functioning all parts have to always be kept clean. Take care that
maintenance is regular. Regularly lubricate bearings and sliding faces with resin-free grease
or oil. Greasing and lubricating also serve as additional protection against corrosion.
2. The rubber ring 7 in the base plate 1 serves to reduce noise and should be in its receptacle.
