ASSEMBLY
IMPORTANT Unpacking and assembly must be carried out
on a flat, solid surface with sufficient space to move the machine
and the packaging.
1. Unpacking (Fig. 2).
2. Assembling and adjusting the handle (Fig. 3).
3. Grass catcher assembly (Fig. 4).

CONTROLS
• Starter control
- Type I: Manual starter hand grip (Fig. 5). Enables manual
starting of the engine
- Type II: Push-button electric starter control (Fig. 6).
Enables electrical starting of the engine
• Operator presence lever
This lever is used to engage the cutting device and the drive.
The engine stops when the lever is released (Fig. 7).
• Drive lever (if provided):
This engages the wheel drive and allows the machine to
move forward (Fig. 8).
IMPORTANT The engine must always be running with the
drive disengaged.
IMPORTANT To prevent damage to the transmission, do not
pull the machine backwards with the drive engaged.
• Throttle (if provided)
The throttle changes the engine revs and the speed of the
cutting device.
The throttle is controlled by the lever (Fig. 9).
Lever positions are indicated on the relevant plate.
Some models have a fixed speed engine with no need for
a throttle.
• Converter control lever (if fitted).
In the models with drive systems, the converter control lever
(if fitted) allows the operator to regulate forward gear speed.
The adjustment is done by moving the lever (Fig. 10) as per
the instructions shown near the lever.
IMPORTANT The engine must be running and the drive en-
gaged when switching from one speed to another.
Do not touch the converter control when the engine is off. Doing
this could damage the converter.
If the machine does not move forward with

• Cutting height adjustment
By lowering or raising the chassis the grass can be cut at
different heights. (Fig. 11)
IMPORTANT This operation must be carried out when the
cutting device is stationary.
5.
USING THE MACHINE
IMPORTANT For instructions regarding the engine and the
battery (if supplied), read the relevant manuals.
5.1. PRELIMINARY PROCEDURES
Place the machine in a stable horizontal position on the ground.
• Filling up with oil and fuel
IMPORTANT The machine is supplied without engine oil or
fuel.
Refuelling shall take place with the machine
switched off and the spark plug cable
disconnected.
Proceed to refuel and check/top-up engine oil according
to the procedures and precautions outlined in the engine
instruction manual.
• Preparing the machine before starting work
IMPORTANT Carry out this operation with the cutting de-
vice stationary.
With this machine, it is possible to mow the lawn in several ways:
• Setting up for cutting the grass and collecting it in the
grass catcher (Fig. 12).
• Setting up for cutting and rear grass discharge onto the
ground (Fig. 13).
• Setting up for cutting and shredding the grass ('mulching'
