Changing the saw blades
Fig. 3
Only use saw blades that are sharp and
undamaged. You must immediately
replace chipped or bent saw blades.
•
Make sure that the plug is not in the socket!
•
Lock the head of the machine in its highest
position.
•
Unscrew the screw (20) by one turn
(anticlockwise).
•
Move the hood (6) forwards. Push the saw
blade interlock (22) in and unscrew the bolt
(18) with the key supplied (clockwise).
•
Remove the saw blade flange (19) and change
the blade. Make sure that the blade is
mounted in the machine correctly: with the
arrow on the blade pointing clockwise.
•
Replace the flange (19) and push the interlock
(22) in and screw the bolt (18) tight again.
•
Move the hood (6) back and screw the screw
(20) tight again (clockwise).
Adjusting the saw angle
Fig. 1
The mitring angle is 45º, both left and right.
•
Unscrew the knob (9) a half turn clockwise.
•
Turn the machine to the desired angle (the
angle can be read off on the front of the
machine).
•
Screw up the knob (9) a half turn
anticlockwise.
•
The turntable clicks into place at the following
angles: 0º, 15º, 22.5º, 30º and 45º (both left
and right).
Setting up the double sawing angle/mitring
Figs. 2 and 4
•
Adjust the first angle as described for adjusting
the saw angle (above).
•
Turn the knob (12) anticlockwise and then set
the angle desired (you can read this off on the
back of the machine. Then tighten the knob
(12) again by turning it clockwise.
Changing the carbon brushes
Fig. 1
•
Make sure that the plug is not in the socket!
•
Unscrew the covers (4) with a flat bladed
screwdriver. Remove the carbon brushes with
the same type of brushes. Screw the covers
(4) tight again.
8
Note: Always replace both carbon brushes at the
same time. Never use a mixture of old and new
brushes.
Mounting the dust bag
Fig. 2
Press in the clamp of the dust bag (13) and slide
it onto the opening on the back of the machine.
The dust bag stays in place when you release the
clamp.
4. OPERATION
Using the mitre saw
Fig. 1
Before use, always check for faults or
defects!
•
Set the desired sawing angle of the machine.
•
Put the plug into the socket.
•
Fix the piece of work in place using the clamps
(7): make sure that the material is well
clamped in place!
•
Hold the material tightly on the left side while
making sure that you keep a safe distance
from the blade of the saw.
•
Turn on the machine using the switch (1 + 2).
•
Make sure that the saw blade has reached full
speed before allowing it to touch the piece of
work to be sawn.
•
Use knob (3) to raise the protective cover lock.
•
Now bring the saw slowly downwards so that
the saw blade saws through the piece of work
and passes through the slot in the table. Do
not put any pressure on the saw. Give the
machine time to saw through the piece of
work.
•
Bring the machine gently up again and switch
it off by letting go of the switch (1).
Using the slide function
Fig. 2
The machine must be firmly bolted to a
workbench.
Use the slide-function for sawing wide
workpieces:
•
Fix the piece of work in place using the clamp
•
Screw up the knob (10) a half turn
anticlockwise.
•
Slide the machine completely towards yourself
