When not in use, the tool should be stored and transported in the plastic case, to prevent
damage. Plastic case: VAL P9, size 543x412x130 mm (21.38x16.22x5.12 in.), weight
2,2 kg (4.8 lbs).
4.3) Head rotation
For ease of operation, the tool head can rotate through 335°, allowing the operator to work
in the most comfortable position.
Warning: Do not attempt to turn the head if the hydraulic circuit is pressurised.

5. BLADE REPLACEMENT

After extended use, the blades may lose their cutting edge.
Replace the blades as follows:
5.1) Lower blade
– Release latch (66) and open the tool head.
– Operate tool to advance the lower blade until holding screw (82) is visible on the ram
(35).
– Using a fl at blade screwdriver remove the holding screw (82) and release the lower
blade (51).
– Insert the new blade and fi t the holding screw.
Warning: before closing the tool head, release the oil pressure and retract the lower
blade, otherwise the tool head assembly may hit and damage the lower blade.
5.2) Upper blade
– Release latch (66) and open the tool head.
– Remove the circlip (47) and extract the head pivot (40) enough to release the tool head
assembly.
– Remove circlip (87) and pivot pin (86), to release the latch (66).
Remove latch spring (50) from the upper blade (46).
– Unscrew the 4 screws (48) and remove the left hand guide (49) and the right hand guide
(42) to release the blade (46).
– Fit the left and right hand guides to the new blade.
Place the spring (50) into its seat and re-fi t the latch (66).
– Fit the blade assembly to the head (38), fully insert the pivot (40) and secure with the
circlip (47).
