INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
2008 - GEB0803LV
Don't build bridges in the terminal boxes.
See also specific manual of the speed controls.
C. Electrical connection motor 13
2 speed - 3 x 400 V
See page 521
Tension: 3 x 400 V; 50 Hz;
Motor isolation class : F;
Motor protection class : IP54;
No inversion of the tension;
2 speed by Y / Δ - inversion
The motor windings are equipped with thermal contacts. Thermal
contacts are temperature sensing, switching elements built directly
into the windings of the external rotor windings. They interrupt an
electrical contact as soon as the maximum admissible sustained
temperature, 130°C, has been reached. The thermal contact protect
the air heater against overload, in accordance with specification VDE
0730.
Breaking capacity : 10A with cos phi =1,0; 6A with cos phi =0,6 -
Rated voltage : 250 Volts
The thermal contacts must be connected to the control circuit of the
main contactor to prevent automatic reconnection of the motor to the
main in case of a fault.
Direction of rotation : the motor has the right direction of rotation
when the air flows out of the air diffuser. The direction of rotation can
be changed by inversion of the 2 phases.
Connection test : compare the current intensity of the 3 phases in all
speeds with the label on the air heater.
Connection of a 2 speed switch
8+1 wires are necessary
Different air heaters, of different sizes, can be connected in parellel.
Thermal contacts must be connected in series.
Don't build bridges in the terminal boxes.
See also specific manual of the speed controls.
D. Electrical connection motor 14
3 speed - 3 x 400 V
See page 522
Tension: 3 x 400 V; 50 Hz;
Motor isolation class : F;
Motor protection class : IP54;
No inversion of the tension;
3 speed by ΔΔ / YY / Δ - inversion

AIR HEATERS
Direction of rotation : the motor has the right direction of rotation
when the air flows out of the air diffuser. The direction of rotation can
be changed by inversion of 2 phases.
Connection test : compare the current intensity of the 3 phases in all
speeds with the label on the air heater.
Connection of a 3 speed switch
11+1 wires are necessary
Different air heaters, of different size, can be connected in parellel.
Thermal contacts must be connected in series.
Don't build bridges in the terminal boxes.
In position 1 the sequence of the network must be L3 L2 L1,
otherwise there is a wrong direction of rotation.
See also specific manual of the speed controls.
E. Electrical connection motor 16 Eex(e)
See page 522
Tension: 3 x 400 V; 50 Hz;
Motor isolation class : F;
Motor protection class : IP44;
No inversion of the tension;
3 speed by Y / Δ - inversion
According to standard EN 50 014 and EN 50 019.
The motor with increased security "e" can be installed in rooms with
risk of explosion in range of zone 1 and 2.
The motor has the distinguishing mark : Eexe II T3 PTB 01 ATEK
3349
Temperature class : T1, T2 or T3
Motor protection : protection by a build-in temperature sensitive
resistance (PTC). This PTC, connected to a set of motor protection,
protects the motor in Ex range to PTB 3.53 PTC/A. Other protections,
like thermal motor protections, are not allowed.
The PTC must be connected with an individual cable, equiped with
2 protected wires. On the motor protection set you can connect only
2 air heaters.
Direction of rotation : the motor has the right direction of rotation
when the air flows out of the air diffuser. The direction of rotation can
be changed by inversion of 2 phases.
Connection test : compare the current intensity of the 3 phases in all
speeds with the label on the air heater.
Connection of a 2 speed switch
1 cable with 6+1 wires for the motor, and a protected cable with 2
wires for the PTC are necessary.
Only 2 air heaters, of different sizes, can be connected in parellel.
PTC must be connected in series.
Don't build bridges in the terminal boxes.
The speed switch may not be installed in the room with explosion
risk.
V. COMMISSIONING
Before starting the air heater, control following items :
- Compare the voltage mentionned on the label of the air heater with
the voltage of the network
- Installation and electrical connection have been properly
completed
2 speed - 3 x 400 V
